smiley - oksmiley - cool Sorry, I meant to tell you - I think that was last night when it was getting late smiley - sleepy. Anyway your PS looked interesting. Mine on the other hand is a bit stale; it is in my mind to revamp it smiley - zen

It's 9.35 am now, about 2 hours after your post I think. I'm trying to decide what to have for brekkie - oatmeal, or cornmeal patties with avocado and poached egg smiley - drool

Nice to see you!

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

Wow, look at that timing - I just logged on!smiley - smiley Just done with supper here, nothing special, fish and veggies... had a lovely late lunch today though, I was downtown so I went to this nice Japanese restaurant and had sushi and misu soup and wakame salad and green tea. smiley - drool

If I were you I'd go for the patties with avocado and poached egg, they sound much nicer than just oatmeal!

Nice to see you!

yeah I went for the cornmeal and avo and eggs, and maybe asparagus too smiley - magic...well I'm waiting for them to cook

I love sushi, and seaweed. I'm vege so I usually get avo and carrot and sprouts in the sushi.

We do seem to be on at the same time which is nice. Do you find there is that big lull in the afternoon? Hangon, you are probably asleep then smiley - laugh. Sunday afternoons NZT is a real deadzone on h2 as all the Brits are asleep and I'm not sure what the Americans are up to then smiley - bigeyes.

Not that I'm complaining given that I can't keep up with my own backlog smiley - ermsmiley - winkeye

Nice to see you!

Sounds like a good breakfast! smiley - tongueout (got tired of using smiley - drool and this one is pretty much the same)

Weekends can get pretty slow in general... on Sundays I'm usually at work or Uni, so never long on a computer; sometimes I don't really bother to log on and just lurk around with my 'eyes' closed. smiley - ghost

Nice to see you!

The patties are getting eaten as fast as I can cook them smiley - erm so haven't got to the eggs yet.

Gotta go...people arriving.

bye,
kea.

And more than three months later... hi again! smiley - biggrin

Just thought I'd drop by after lurking about and suddenly discovering the fact that both our U-numbers end with 656 - so you're exactly 38,000 U-numbers 'older' than me. smiley - smileyAnd if that wasn't enough of a coincidence, I also found out Amy P is 180656. smiley - wow What are the chances of that?

Gotta go and explore this further... see how many 656s are around. smiley - biggrin

Nice to see you!

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

smiley - yikessmiley - wowRight on the first try, too!

Which was obviously 250-42, taking me to U208656 - Recumbentman's PS.

smiley - bigeyesI think we should start a club. We can call it 'smiley - devil minus 10'.

Nice to see you!

Yaay, someone resurrecting a PS thread smiley - ok

656....smiley - devil -10 Yes, definitely a club! smiley - wowsmiley - somersault

smiley - biggrin

How far did you look for others?

Sorry I don't have anything more conversational to say..I just got up smiley - sleepy

I liked your post in Ben's h2 thread smiley - ok.

Nice to see you!

Post 14

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

smiley - biggrinWoo! I always feel bad about PS threads dying away, I do try to resurrect them every once in a while but when they're on other people's PSs it's sometimes hard to remember... smiley - erm

Anyway, I was crazy enough and bored enough to go over the first hundred or so researchers - from 10656 to 110656 (I think the U-numbers only officially start on 5 digits, no?). None active, most don't really exist as anything more than a name, and sometimes not even that. U42656, for instance, is nobody - quite disappointing!
Some of these were a little more interesting, though... here are the findings so far: U31656 is a hidden PS - I wonder what was there? U33656 I liked because his name was Killroy (as in 'Killroy was here'). U43656's only contribution to the guide is a short entry titled 'Guide Entries'; and U47656's is two short identical pieces about golf. U52656 wrote two interesting journal entries before disappearing into the Great Void. U91656 is apparently a fish. smiley - weirdU93656 has a broken link, but no postings. U95656 suggested in 2000 to name our current decade 'the double oh's (as in James Bond - pretty cool idea actually), and participated in a 'pop' vs. 'soda' debate. 101656 wrote a piece about his favourite moment in M*A*S*H and one post about office chairs. And U110656, besides also featuring a broken link, also criticised an entry about 'funk' for bad word usage, and wrote one entry about Ricky Martin (consisting solely of the sentence 'Worst waste of carbon molecules ever'), and another that is now hidden but appears to be about the word 'f**k'.

smiley - ermNow that I look at this list, I suddenly realise how much time I've been wasting today... smiley - laughsmiley - roflsmiley - erm

Oh, and re B's h2 thread - smiley - ta I've actually started reading it from the beginning later on... some very interesting things said. smiley - smiley

Okay, just one brief sweep of the backlog andthen I'm off to sleep, honest! smiley - yawn

'smiley - devil-10 Pennywhistle'

smiley - bigeyes

You *have* been busy. I can totally relate to that smiley - laugh - it's the kind of thing I would do too.

It's actually quite an interesting list. I've been in the garden all day and am totally knackered, but when I have some energy again, I'll continue the search.

Are you going to start an A page then, for the smiley - devil-10s?

Nice to see you!

Post 16

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

I guess I will, once I find some more active members... I continued my time-wasting today smiley - dohsmiley - laugh and found out that Amy P is the oldest active member.

And since you haven't shown any objection yet, I'll go on boring you with my 656 findings:
U114656 wrote an intro (about night life in a little nowhere in northern England) and one post supporting ecstasy. U115656 used to be an Agony Aunt - _the_ Agony Aunt, in fact! - but disappeared in April 2001. U118656 has just an intro, titled 'It', which is quite amusing actually. U129656 posted here and there, mainly comments to entries, before disappearing in December 2000. U131656 only ever wrote two journal entries - the last one is rather interesting actually, and he tells in it he's going to propose to his girlfriend. I wonder how that worked out. U133656 is an interesting case - a page created by U106797, an American in Japan, for his students and friends... which apparently wasn't too successful. U140656 also only has an intro (I think from now on I'll shorten this to JAI - Just An Intro). U141656 got to h2g2 through a link on babelfish (I remember seeing about this in B's thread!). U145656 only has a journal entry (henceforth: JAJE) saying it's his first day here. U147656 and U149656 are also JAJEs. The only thing U158656 appears to have ever written are the three words on her(?) entry: 'live, love, learn' (How neat!). U162656 seems to be subscribed to 'Miscellaneous Chat' (didn't even know that existed!) but has no recent postings. U169656 is a JAJE, though it seems he's been here before. U170656 is another JAJE, and U173656 is another JAI (who apparently joined after hearing the news about DNA's death). U174656 is a lovely case - he only joined to make one post, which was a goodbye message on DNA's PS. Then U177656 and 179656 are two more JAIs, and then there's finally Amy P at 180656 - the most senior 'smiley - devil-10' still active. smiley - biggrin Maybe we can make her the club president?

Oh man, I am thinking about this WAY too much! smiley - laughsmiley - erm

Nice to see you!

smiley - ermLooks like I've scared you away...

smiley - grovelCome back, please! smiley - wahI'm not _that_ nuts! I promise I'll stop boring you with lists of people who are no longer on h2g2!

smiley - tongueout

Nah, it's not that I think you're mad (although I'm wiling to concede that you are <tnogueout&gtsmiley - winkeye. It's that the backlog on my More Postings page has collapsed into utter chaos. I haven't been on enough I guess smiley - erm. I Must have a good tidy up!

I actually found the lists quite interesting to read. Have you done any more? smiley - devil

Nice to see you!

Post 20

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

Ah, I see... fine, I'll just have to nag you more often then, eh? smiley - winkeye

(By the way, / / / etc can be easily avoided by using the shortcut : - P)

Can't remember if I've done any others actually... where did I stop, at Amy, right? I think I had a piece of paper here somewhere with a few more *rummages through endless stacks of mess* Ha! There it is!

Well then, you asked for it... smiley - tongueout

U181656 subscribed to one thread - and posted in another - in an old Talking Point (Technology that's Supposed to be Helpful... but Isn't). U182656 has an intro and a rather amusing entry about plaster casts. U184656 has just one post in a Talking Point about September 11 (this is on 13/9 or so). U186656 wrote a short story titled Lynx (haven't read that yet actually - it's on A651395 if you want to have a look yourself, but unfortunately it's 'to be continued). U187656 - JAI. U192656 is subscribed (without posting) to a thread on the Welcome page titled '42'. U195656 actually seems to have been a more active researchers, with pics on his PS and all, but hasn't posted since July 2002 - when he said he's going away for three weeks and should be back around mid-August. U196656 is a pretty similar case, that hasn't posted since June 2002. U197656 was from Sense of Place. U198656 has one posting in a thread on an entry about Athens, Illinois. U199656 and U201656 are JAIs. And U200656 doesn't look like he's been around recently, but he's subscribed to Ask so it's hard to know when his last posting actually was.

Gotta smiley - run, hope to see you soon! smiley - smiley
