Hi kea
I asked to sub-edit this so if there's any questions/alterations you wish to make, the recommended version is here: A31189340
I haven't done anything yet, but do post your thoughts and I'll let you know when I'm done

Subbing "Kiwifruit"
Hi GB
I don't feel the need to change anything myself. If I had more time I would have taken on some of the suggestions at the end of the PR thread, but I don't. I did decide to not add anything re the medicinal aspects because it was going to get too complicated.
Are you going to add content, or just adjust things? I've not been through this process with a sub before, as with my other entry I wasn't contacted.
kea.

Hello again kea
I didn't realise you'd never been through the editing process with a sub before
This is what we do: <./>Subeditors-What</.> but I would rather answer your questions as that's really a help page for sub-editors.
As with each author, every sub-ed is different, and has their own style, so some (like me) like to contact authors to discuss the process/any changes. It's your baby after all I am also a writer and I like to be involved at the next stage as well. Some sub-eds just do the subbing and return to Eds, assuming the entry had all points noted from PR by the conscientiousness of the Scout picker.
Your entry I have presented in such a way as I would have done, had it been my own. I added a few recipes from the BBC library to "polish off" the Entry. I have added bits I thought important from the PR thread (Big Al especially is a great source and help with things like medical benefits, I have added him to the credit references tag).
Now, I am happy for this to go back to the Eds for final polish (they may make further changes) and it will await its turn on the Front Page. I would rather hear from you that you are happy with what I have done, so I will hang onto editorial rights until I hear back from you. What you need to do is read it through, and tell me if there is anything at all I have done that you don't like/disagree with/don't understand, and I will liaise with you until we reach a compromise. To me that's part of the job of subbing, and one I take pride in. I do post at PR in case any reviewers have a comment on the subbed version as well

Thanks for the explanation GB
My main problem with putting in Big Al's PR recommendations at the time was that if we include the Western medical uses and not the Chinese ones then it seems imbalanced given that that is where the kiwifruit comes from. I suppose the solution now is to add in something about the Chinese medical use. How long have I got to do that?
Having the recipes is a good idea. I'm not sure about having kiwi recipes though given how the entry starts with kiwifruit not being kiwis

I have expanded the url titles
It already says: <> in the History section, if you would like to expand that by mentioning each malaise that's fine. I do think having health benefits in an Entry gives the reader a little knowledge they didn't have before and it's always nice to have a subject to discuss other than the weather to the checkout girl when she's scanning your purchases...
This Entry has taught me a lot, thank you... (I love kiwifruit yoghurt and might try a smoothie...)
Write what you want to add here
How long have you got? I need to return this within 2 weeks... 4 weeks and the Eds' big poking stick comes out and I don't want to risk that

Great, thanks.
There's a huge queue at ComingUp so there's no rush (but if you hear the sound of something being sharpened)

Hi again GB
I'm not getting round to doing anything more on this, so may as well send it on to the Eds
