hello. If I agree with you on something, doesn't that mean we leagally have to be friends. There's enough people out there I don't agreee with already : )
hello
Well, we might be able to be friends whether you agree with me or not (meaning if you disagree with me I don't stop being your friend).
But being friends... shouldn't we see if we like each other first?

time alone will tell
although I'm off on holiday for a month on saturday. so I might not be much in evidence for a while.
hello
We'll still be here when you get back
It's always nice having new faces on h2g2, especially people that are williing to get involved in the debate threads (otherwise it just becomes the same old crowd rehasing the same old story).
Hope you have fun on your hols. A month is a good amount of time

I've not really taken to internet chat before, but then hootoo is the only place I can chat from work and it seems quite a civilised bunch of people. I like that ranting is acceptable.
Me and family are off to British Colombia so I am most excited. Holiday of a lifetime thing, not that I wish to imply all the rest of the holidays I might have will be a disappointment by comparison. But I'm not sure I can bear the carbon burden more than once per incarnation.
You have a nice July though, whatever you do. And remember, it's good for the garden
hello
I reall like your green facism post btw. Some great ideas there, and your debating style is a nice mix of hard hitting without being rude and obnoxious.

thank you. i do enjoy this kind of stuff. it works better on the page than in person I suspect because people's ire's aren't aroused so much and you can keep it impersonal. address the issues not the individual.
i like your posts too. you don't let people get away with unsubstantiated rhetoric or bluster and that's important. people accept the popular position largely out of laziness and gently pointing out inconsistancies in a way that allows them to think, rather than forces them to is the best way to challenge recieved notions. I'm not so good at the gentle though.
we do seem to end up in the same places arguing a similar position and for all the being nice about things it does have the air of a polite gladiatorial forum. I like that.
off on holiday and i should really do some work today, but I might be up later. If not, see you round in August.
