Radio Report
Posted Dec 23, 2003
ok, as most of you know, i was doing my radio show again this weekend
none of you tuned in though, and i can tell cos we got a little meter that registers when someone is listening via the net
but i thought i'd write a report anyway so you can see what you missed
Sunday 20th December 2003
2100 - 0000
a slow start due to nearly a years absence, quite expected and anticipated by many as my adaptive skills can be quite amusing at times.
Mental Ben managed to break the SMS Messenger service which meant that even if someone was listening they wouldn't be able to TXT us
but we didn't care anyway
all in all a good show. we had a laugh after we loosened up and played some comical tracks and some classic tunes
Monday 21st December 2003
2100 - 2300
only a day apart, but oh so different.
a complete and utter shambles despite my best intentions and efforts.
i invited another friend to join me in the studio along with Mental Ben as he had expressed a keen interest on coming along.
he made me late by completely disregarding the fact i was coming for him in a taxi by deciding that around the agreed meeting time he would go to MacDonalds! so he wasn't where he was meant to be for starters and only informed me when i got to the meeting place.
Then he had the audacity to practically 'order' me to come get him and pay the taxi extra! oh, and he's bringing his mate as well, without even asking me!!
i got out the taxi in the end cos i couldn't see any point of getting charged £1 a minute waiting fee whilst my 'mate' ordered his fries.
so he has a go at me for that cos we gotta wait for another cab now.
he's lucky i am a Virgo and blessed with infinite patience, no really he is
so we get another taxi, one problem though, his mate is still eating his chips and as most will know taxi's don't allow food in the car.
so he starts a big hoohar over that!!
i swear i now have grey hairs that i really shouldn't have yet and i'm not even in the cab to take me to the studio
so we eventually get there, and that is when all my plans go right out the window.
30 minutes of non-stop music later i am still waiting to do a link and introduce ourselves to the imaginary audience in my head. i can't do this as i am getting constant abuse from my friend who has obviously had a few beers and it is only just coming to my attention. that and the fact i have about 1 square foot to move in due to everyone wanting to be where i am trying to organise things
last night i lost my will to try and the show was a complete flop. i did as little an amount of links i could despite constant whingeing from said friend as i knew they would be pointless, directionless and sound worse than the cheese they were making me play.
i mean, Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me!!
HELLO!! i swear i told him 300 times it is a popular rock show not a nostalgia trip for middle aged men who think they can still rebel against the system they rely on.
thank God we had no listeners and thank God it was only a 2 hour show
not only all that but he made the younger DJ's, especially this female one we took over from, feel really uncomfortable with his 'out of place comments'.
he thought he was funny, i thought he was taking the just a bit too much.
he reckons he's coming next week, i reckon i am gonna stay in the taxi.

that's right folks, i, John Bugwa will returning to an airwave near you this weekend
http://orbitfm.co.uk/ is back up and running as of Saturday, and if i make it back from the Paul McKenna show with my mind intact, or not, just as long as i make it back, i will be on air on Sunday 21st of December at 21:00GMT.
schedule:

28/12/03 21:00 - 00:00
29/12/03 21:00 - 23:00
and then i think i am on on the 4th will have to check that one.
of course the station is on air 24/7 throughout it's licence period and there are some good DJ's there with almost as good a playlist as mine, but not quite
you can also listen to us over the net, i think well you should be able to. i think my manager said you can but i was on my 8th pint by then...what it's Christmas
so, that's 87.9fm

WHAT!? and who is this 'Johnny' anyway?
Posted Dec 15, 2003
no offence to Rugby fans world wide that would be over the moon at the latest BBC 'viewer grabbing, crowd pleasing politically correct' Awards Ceremony, but seriously the title of the award is 'Sports Personality'. i'll say it again, PERSONALITY.
now try this, Johnny Wilkinson - PERSONALITY.
doesn't quite fit does it
still, what can we expect from a corporation hell bent on appearing fashionable and so stiff upper lipped that any other outcome would have probably lost jobs after all the hype surrounding it.
what more can we expect though from our commercial values
but the real villains in this scandalous announcement are all those ale fueled gorrilla heads that bought the publicity and actually /voted/ for this decision.
i'm sorry, but if anyone from the english rugby team should have got it then i'd have said Clive Woodward. the guy smiled at least 3 times from what i saw and that was 2 more than Johnny!
this is just a small problem in a britain that is becoming increasingly controlled by that electrical box and it's moving images. a country that can't see past the headlines anymore to the real stories, the real heroes that keep society ticking.
the predictability of the 'Big Read' results another example. for months the media has been mentionaing the same books, and low and behold, what books make it to the top 5!
well done to Wilko and the boys for THEIR achievement. now could the rest of us please start using our own minds

DJ creachy..BRING IT ON!!
Posted Nov 27, 2003
Ok, so not only did i completely screw up the last time i was due on air but i failed to get in contact with the station to explain why i didn't turn up for my shift which i apologise for to any who were looking forward to hearing my smooth. sexy tones through their PC speakers, followed by Machinehead naturally
and, to make it worse, about 3 weeks later i sent the station manager a text to go some way towards redeeming my drunken antics with the complete disregard for the fact he is deaf and blind i really should go to hell now
yet they still want me on the show. i have just got off the phone to my station manager and they not only want me back but have reserved a prime spot on the early evening shift
it is, i must say, much undeserved. but apparently the listeners and other DJ's miss me so i will let you all know when i am due to make my grand comeback to the music scene.
until then, keep the volume on 11!!
