the nightmare as begun this morning
Posted Apr 21, 2009
where i live on a large estate, old masonettes where taken down long time ago.
-
years ago plans where made to have something on all the spare land.
-
till now nothing as happened, thats till today.
-
at the oment all the trees on the spare land are being removed or cut down, one of the 5 spare areas as half of it with a high wire fence round, and the other half before they leave no doubt.
-
from start to finish will be at least a year, a nightmare, with noise, from as early as 7am at times. i think i need a transfer to a smaller place lol. the double glazing wont be any good.
-
if me and prof thought the upeveal with the housing was a nightmare this will be ten times worse, and chance of sleeping on, even sundays will be fun, i dont think, jim

another peice of family history now found and printed off
Posted Apr 17, 2009
today i went to the library, to see if i could at last find a way to see what regiment and number my father had in the 1st world war.
-
a friend said as the records where damaged, i should use the backdoor, look for the medals lists.
-
so armed with my father full name,i looked on google, and found the nat archives, and where to put the name.
-
and there he was, and his number and regiment, and that he served from 1914 to 1920, not 1919.
-
the reason he came home a year later could be why my mother and father had a strained life for many years after(as my elder sister once told me).
-
his regiment and others where there for an extra year for the many grave registrations, and cemeteries being opened for the dead and ones in name only.
-
when i got home i rang my bros wife, and she was in for once, and she told me how to get my nephew ronald, and he answered to, and he as my fathers medals,in a case.
-
its another peice of my family history, now printed off, and to go to my neice to go with all the other searches over the years ive done. i reached back to 1700, but still cant connect the family name to france, or any french speking country, yep my last name is a french one lol jim

rule number one, never leave your comfort zone, stick with who or what you know
Posted Apr 11, 2009
you would think after being on here for over 5 yrs, i would learn to stay where its safe.
-
ive written peices in the past for the paper section, on me or things i know.
-
well i made the mistake of trying to step out of my comfort zone, and wrote a sci-fi peice.
-
"slap on wrist"dont do it again.
-
i wa going to delete it, but then i remember the times my mother would, point her finger and say, "waste not, want not".
-
so i,ll stick it on here, if its ok, poor, or just rubbish, say so, its already be rejected.

i like to write, to pass time, or just because something comes in my head, and a few words turn into a few sentences, and then im away.
-
after it will become one of the lost guide entries in the void of h2g2, never to be seen again lol
