Thank you for the affirming appreciation of my comments
regarding a DNA standard of language at the nootoo.

I had been waiting for someone to challenge me about his
use of the f-bomb, demanding I cite chapter and verse.
I couldn't!

But it struck me almost physically when I read it. He knew
when it was appropriate to use it. The shock was palpable,
but the effect was pure literature.
It may have been in a Dirk Gently story, or Salmon of Doubt
or even the 'other' Patricia MacMillan, the cynical TV journo,
but it was dialogue and it fit the character and the drama
of the moment.

smiley - ok No problem.

I think your comment in that thread almost perfectly illustrates how DNA was able to make us laugh, think, and question without having to resort to any swear words. The fetid dingo's kidney can still mean anything you want it to, and fits all occasions smiley - laugh
I wasn't aware of the F-bomb dropping you quoted, but I can imagine the impact that would have had!

Oh, and I meant to say at the start. Nice to meet you. You've been around these parts as long (if not longer) than me, and I think this is the first time we've really conversed, although I always find your comments on site to be a tad off centre, and interesting smiley - ok

Thanks
