Let me see.. The tomorrow of 3 days ago is 2 days ago, which makes it Friday: that's it, that was on Friday smiley - ok Curiously enough, that was the anniversary of Anne Frank's family moving out of their home to go hiding.

Thanks for the fingers crossed! I think the result will come up soon.

Hi, did you get the result now? How was your stay in Dublin anyway? Did you meet Recumbentman or Gnomon?

My stay was very short (arrived on Thursday night, left on Saturday early). After the interview I crushed on my bed and slept smiley - yikes so I didn't get to see anybody. Of course I will catch up if I get the position smiley - biggrin

Oh, ok. I do hope you'll get at least one of the jobs. smiley - goodluck

I'm still ploughing through my conversation list, next time, I should unsubscribe from Ask and PR before I leave for a few days. smiley - laugh

Well, Max Planck would be 4 months only, so that would be just moving back the problem. It would make moving easier though.

I also was subscribed to Ask once upon a time. And I unsubscribed precisely for the same reason smiley - biggrin Sometimes I just pop by and have a look at recent questions, but no way I'm subscribing anymore!

I also note an annoying tendency of hootooers to post like mad just when I'm offline smiley - winkeye

I'm not sure whether this is a case of 'whom the cap fits', but as you used to be offline for most of the time (until recently), you can't really complain, can you? smiley - winkeye

Oh, ok, go on then, complain if you have to. smiley - laugh
I had 400+ posts to catch up with in my yikes journal, a good 130 in lil's mobile phone journal, etc. It's nice to come home and have something to read. smiley - biggrin

Yes, right now, I don't manage to catch up with the older conversations, I only just manage to reply to the current ones. smiley - biggrin
I enjoy it as long as it lasts, though. smiley - laugh

Re: what you said about Skat and Doko: I beg to differ. I started with Skat when I was ten, then years later, I learned Doko. Doko has so many more possibilities, Skat is quite boring in comparison. Only trouble is that it's so hard to find good partners for Doko.

Doko? You can go and do solos with almost any hand!

Actually, I think Doko is "easier" because (in my experience) you can recover easier from little mistakes.Skat can be so unforgiving sometimes smiley - winkeye

Maybe you can do solos with almost any hand, but can you win them, too? smiley - winkeye

Skat is unforgiving because it's just you against two others, and you only have 32 cards. With Doko, if you have a good memory, you can gain more, that's true - provided the others haven't quite so good a memory.
Disregard the bidding at Skat, and it's really simple.
Once you know how to bid, it's very simple, too.

Well, sometimes there is a bit of strategy and deceit involved.

I don't think I can win any solo at Doko - but who cares? It's just for the fun of it smiley - biggrin

Which wouldn't be forgiven by strict Skat players actually.

You may have a point there. I haven't played Skat for ages, I swapped it for Doko. I smiley - love palying Doko, I really should teach my boys to play it, then we could play Doko once a week.

I'm fine, thank you, a bit hectic at the moment and back to Israel for a few weeks. Well, with a Dusseldorf break (8-10th of October, I must give a talk there smiley - scientist)

What about you? I think I missed the Post article about our meet. For some reason the post didn't appear that Thursday, and then I was away

It's here: A26639779

Matodemi wrote it. There wasn't a smiley - thepost in the week after the meet, but only two weeks later, which is why you missed it.
Sounds as if you're travelling quite a lot. Will you get paid for that talk?
