I read you think students should be treated like cattle, but you were obviously a student if you have a phd.So do you think that you yourself should be treated like cattle when you were a student?

Oh no, I certainly don't think so. It actually reflected the way I personnaly felt: for I went last week to see a series of lectures somewhere in Lyons (which is quite a trip from here) and got slightly upset as the organisation was, say, unperfect (basically they cancelled one course - the one that I was actually interested in

And also, I don't have a phd yet (I'm still a student). I do hope I'll get it by the end of the year .

It's all right. No probs with being childish.
As for actors, it's not my own opinion (I have none about it).
Got to now (lunch time. I'm starving!)

well seeing as you seem to be ok with me can i ask you a few q's. so what are you studying? if you have told me i must apologise for my sieve like brain. and how old are you and what do you like doing ?
No probs with it. Don't worry.
toybox Posted Mar 28, 2003
Well my brain is also just like a sieve (or a Swiss cheese, the one with holes in it).
What am I studying? Rings of fractions of enveloping algebras (which are just kind of non-commutative polynomial rings, in some sense). I am 26 and I love spending hours on hootoo, and watching movies, and cooking. When I have a little time left on my hands, I sometimes do work a little on my PhD thesis .
Tell me more about you, researcher 220884. As far as I can remember from your personal space, you're Scottish and studying biology, are you not?

No probs with being late posting on this thread. I spend much less time online now, for I have to finish my PhD first and I'm quite late with it .
I was born and bred in here. I would rather go and live in Edinburgh, though; but I have too little imagination to go on and move anywhere .

Thank you for your nice comment about my phd .
Edinburgh life is my idea of paradise, but my view is most certainly biased, or clouded by the mists of , and the fact all the people I've met there are fantastic . In the few moments I was sober I seem to remember it to be a nice-looking city, quite small and unhectic for a capital, and still nicely busy. I like the idea of being located next to the sea as well. Also they have a terrific botanical garden.
Nevertheless, it is said that traffic wardens have been real wild for a couple of years now. I was told the story of a rubbish truck that got stuck on a street because its engine broke down and got a ticket. Another story involved an ambulance that was parked in front of a house waiting for a, well, a customer and got a ticket.
