Hello, I'm VIP (very important Princess) and it's part of my job here to welcome new researchers to this wonderful site. As you will have no doubt realised, h2g2 is a large and lively site, with lots of conversations and lots of people from many countries all talking online. Of course, that is not all that the site is about; the Guide entries are many and informative, and you are more than welcome to contribute yourself on your specialist subjects.
