I'm from Australia and one of the things my friends and I often discuss is the difference in their humours.
I am a strong advocate for (This is to be read really really loudly) "ENGLISH HUMOUR IS FAR SUPERIOR THAN AMERICAN"
Because mainly it doesn't rely on the use of the bad F word and Englis humour assumes that you have some intelligence.
Australian humour relys strongly on irreverance.
Just a little point.

Coming from an English background, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I can't think of anything American that's nearly as funny as Fawlty Towers, Monty Python and everything else that the Brits made .
Comedy Central, the biggest US cable comedy chanel, doesn't even come close, and whoever made "Jackass", "Insomniac" and "Spongebob Squarepants" () need to be shot. I still don't understand why so many of my peers like them, 'cause they just annoy the hell out of me. Then again, I suppose it's a culture thing. None of them like British humor...

I haven't seen Black Books (to the confusion of my peers, I'd rather jog around than watch TV/films/etc.), unfortunatly.
I don't think that there should be a law against it, per se (free speech and all that), I just think it should be ostracised from society .

Quite right. No censorship, just cut off their hands or something... Or we could put them on an island, one of the greek ones, make it a little less perfect for holidaying...
