Well, where do I start? New Zealand is like the little brother who wants an equal share of everything the big brother gets regardless of the validity of the claim. We, as the big brother, laugh as we easily hold little brother at bay while he swings madly trying to beat the big brother up out of frustration! We didn't get any rumblings in Melbourne at all re: the earthquake. I bet that Sydney didn't either, but they just said they did because they can't stand to not be the centre of attention.

(New Zealand farmers wear oversized gumboots......can you tell me why?????)

I don't know. By oversized do you mean waders or just big enough to grow into eventually? Usually little brothers get the latter I think.
Now waders is a whole nother thing..

Well actually, the reason that they have oversized boots..........
[TASTELESS WARNING!] Is so that they also snuggly fit the hind legs of a sheep as well!! [TASTELESS WARNING DISCONTINUED]

I can sort of visualize it although it's kind of hard sometimes. I was thinking the work glove covered hands would grasp the shanks wheelbarrow style maybe.
It never occurred to me that the boots could be used in different fashion to accomplish the same thing. In fact, I suspect they wouldn't work unless the fit was so snug that somebody might not feel his toes after awhile.
Of course all this presumes the ewes are unwilling doesn't it? Maybe they're more compliant in Australia for some reason?

OK now people, I am really beginning to regret bringing the sheep stuff up now! 'AND' I am sure that sheep are the same everywhere!
We have a well known sock made in Australia called an Explorer sock (bloody top notch winter socks. They use a sheep wearing these socks as the advertisement. (So god even the sheep wear'em) But that's as close as we get to a gumboot wearing sheep in the land of Oz!

Geez! I dunno.......how many bricks are in the wall of China?
MH
(It's a question RAF)

RAF Wing... Lookee I'm Invisible!! Posted Aug 27, 2003
It depends on which wall you're talking about. I heard there's a bunch and some of them might just be piles of dirt by now.
On the other hand, if the wall's made of China then maybe there aren't any bricks, just bricnbrac.

Do you know what the mortar in the Great Wall consists of?

Okay, both cattle and rabbits eat grass but how do their digestive strategies differ?
Tonight on cspan
MadHamish : Off in the real world! Posted Aug 28, 2003
Cows have four stomachs rabbits have one. (?)
MH
(Also one is much easier to fit in a rabbit cage than the other!)

"Okay, both cattle and rabbits eat grass but how do their digestive strategies differ?"
Aha! A trick question! Some of a rabbit's food makes two trips through the digestive system.
0 - former owner of a litter trained rabbit. Okay, so my daughter was the owner...

Surely we are both correct then!
MH
(Rabbits are also very difficult to milk, not to mention the pissy size of rabbit chops!)
Tonight on cspan
David Conway Posted Aug 28, 2003
Well, that's not quite about their digestive strategy, but it IS a difference. Okay, it's two differences.
Here's another. I've never met a litter-trained cow.

AHAHAHAHAH! Could you imagine a burrowing cow! Ferrets would have nervous breakdowns! It could be messy to have a family of cows living underneath your house!!!
