There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Are those Eastern or Central times abbi? My online tv guide for this evening on C-span just has a big block called 'Primetime Public Affairs' from 7pm-10pm.

MadHamish : Off in the real world!

Cable is rotting your brains, put down the remote and back away from your top boxes. TV has it's use but the habit of just having the heap big magic talky talky box on because someone is home is just rediculous. My mother, as very smart and somewhat fearsome woman (to others, not me!) did a thesis a few years ago on the effect of television watching by children before school. The results were staggering. The children who watched TV before school were not able to concentrate for as long, or think as quickly as the children who didn't. The results were quite stagggering. I may be able to get the thesis and post it! (Well some of it, it's bloody huge!).
Since then I have only ever turned on the TV to watch something specifically and the turned it off! My lifestyle and general happiness has never been better!

It's rather presumptuous of you to suppose that I don't do that smiley - erm
I can't speak for abbi, nor would I presume to do so.

RAF Wing... Lookee I'm Invisible!!

I've often suspected people could do with a good deal more vision and a good deal less television. It's nice to know it's there if you need it probably, but it's better to know it ain't really that needed, especially when it's managed by just a few companies, primarily concerned with making themselves rich.

Thanks for the links though, Abbi. I don't know that I can use them, but it's sweet that you're thinking about people that way. It's nice to have someone around interested in increasing public awareness whether through television viewing or something else.

I think the only thing that helps children much is having parents or grandparents interested in raising them and showing it. Television ain't a very good nanny really and nannies ain't very good parents or grandparents, but if that's all you've got you got to make do with it I guess. Lives of privilege do have their downsides don't they?

Crystal balls are overrated anyways.

Hi, Hamish. Nice to know your powers are growing again. Miraculous what a little fertilizer mixed with beer can do. It's not only amazing. It's positively dumfounding sometimes. Keep up the good work. Someone will notice. Just wait and see.

Here is a great link about the ;love tour for the Patriot Act
There are great links. I like how they do a story and then have the links right on the words. They are excellant at backing all up with sources National or Int news.
There is a BBC link (as usual) in this article.

Hi gosho, how was the cspan show?

Not soon enough in my opinion - it was utterly sickening to hear John Ashcroft defending it yesterday in the name of the people who died on 9/11.

The Newsnight show was fascinating abbi smiley - ok A pity that it was presented by Kirsty Wark rather than Jeremy Paxman, but I enjoyed it all the same. Have you seen it yet?

RAF Wing... Lookee I'm Invisible!!

I think if the CNN or whoever sycophantic morons get off their dead asses and start trailing the Bushturds like they trailed Nixon a generation ago, there might just be some hope of swaying public opinion enough to get the Patriot Act and the phony patriots out of the picture for awhile.

Of course they'll probably crash a few more planes into buildings before that happens trying to scare people into submission or turn off the air conditioning again or other forms of mass torment, but if people stay the course they'll probably be better off in the long term.

Amerika doesn't have a government. It's has a La Cosa Nostra commission on steroids.
