You are quite welcome. Both DG and I are very fond of cats--although they can be annoying at times.

Thanks, Simba has a funny half hour now and again where the runs up and down the room. During the day he makes funny noises when he is looking through the living room window.

Our cats make funny noises when they are chasing prey---we call it their anti-aircraft noises. I have rescued a wren and a squirrel from our murderous pair. I confess I let them kill the mice.

I had a shock when Simba ate a mouse as I thought it would be bad for his stomach. He also loves eating insects and when he's happy either winks at me or has tail erect up.

Cats are wicked predators---they are responsible for declining bird populations in the UK---here in the US, people tend to keep their cats in, that is cheaper than exposing them to feline aids and leukemia. So vet bills are cheaper. I do believe as predators they tend to have rather cast iron stomachs---not quite as bad as goats or dogs but pretty tough.

Simba my cat is a mixed breed: tortoiseshell with heart and wing shaped markings on his back.
He's never killed any birds when my sister Margaret had him, and only ate moths when indoors. As I rarely ever getting any moths, he makes do with flies and spiders.
He has been inoculated at the local charity run Peoples Dispensary for sick animals.

Well cats have the innate ability to hunt --but to deliver the
killing move they usually learn that from their mothers. But if a kitten is orphaned early before it is weaned, they can't kill animals---they just play with prey as though it is a toy.

I have noticed on occasions Simba likes to wink at me and our family dog Jock would also wink at me quite often. If I meow, Simba copies me.
