Hello and welcome to h2g2 smiley - smiley

I am one of the site's ACE's and it is my job to meet and greet new researchers and make sure that they are ok and can find their way around the site. I'm also at Sheffield University like you (living in Broomhill) although my final exam ever is tomorrow smiley - bubbly

One of the first things you can do on h2g2 is to give yourself a name by clicking on the preferences button and replacing your researcher number with the name of your choice.

Once you have done that, a page well worth looking at is the Welcome page which can be found by clicking on A53146. Here you can find out some general information about the guide and links to help pages.

May I also suggest visiting the GuideML clinic at A187229. GuideML is the computer language that h2g2 uses, and this page will help you to fill your user space with all sorts of neat stuff smiley - cool

If you are wondering how to make the smiley pictures like smiley - biggrin then click on A155909 which will take you a page which shows all the smileys.

If you are feeling a bit lost then dont panic because help is at hand. Click on A219638 which will take you to the help pages, or feel free to ask me by clicking on the reply button below, and I will do as much as I can to help

Hope that answers any querys you have for the moment.

Tonto smiley - cheers

Seem to be having navigation problems. I wrote a response to an article. This response was responded to. I wanted to re-read the article but it took me ages to find it. Is there a thing you can click on that will send you to the article that the conversation is about?

I think I see what you mean and the answer is sadly no!

What I sometimes do in those cases is open up a new window by right clicking with the mouse on discuss and clicking "open in new window" thus having the article to view also but that is a non - h2g2 solution smiley - smiley
