Hi Gretasmiley - biggrin, I know **it happens, but I just want to know that I am here for you, along with all the other nice people I have got to know on this site! We all need help & support at times and the written words I read on this page, have all come with real feeling behind them. I too have bad depressing days, but somehow when I log on to this site I always feel uplifed and find the strength to carry on! So go on girlsmiley - oksmiley - winkeye

Thanks Smudger. I appreciate that no end, believe me.

I think I'm just going to be assertive about the situation. I'll contact the guy who broke off post-pic and ask him outright (albeit nicely) what is wrong. I'll try to keep an open mind about it. I just want to know where I stand, no more no less. If dissatisfied with his reply, I will uninstall Yahoo messenger, delete his membership to the collective blog he never participated in and remove him from my life. I have enough friends and I will make new ones, I do not need to keep one who decides I'm not good enough to talk to because I don't look like Miss World.

Step two: I will spend the evening in, writing a cover letter for my new novel and preparing to send it off to more potential publishers. Then, newxt week I will make all the follow-up calls. I MUST succeed.

Step three: I will get a really sexy haircut, go out and have fun.

These are all easy, within-reach things to do. And I will do them.

I'm halfway through the "clearing things up" part. It's a little painful.

The haircut will have to wait, the hairdresser's all booked up smiley - sadface

Still, there's a night out waiting.

Hi Gretasmiley - biggrin, Yes it is painful, but we have all had these moments, Hey! I came out of a divorce, bankrupt, and a shoe box full of possesions after 23 years, but Im a lot happier within myself for it. Go and find another hair dresser, get your hair do, and have your night out. You deserve it, do it now, as they say. Thats how I met Mk2 (nickname for my wife)on a night out!!! So Go!!smiley - oksmiley - winkeye

Oh no, Karen, I'm still here!!! smiley - biggrin

Seriously, I'm OK today. I was a little upset yesterday, but I'm all right now. It wasn't a tremendously important thing and I'm glad it's out of the way. I also wrote off to a few publishers, for good measure, just to keep busy.

It's all good.

One of my oldest friends from Uni has just split up with her Danish boyfriend and is back home with her parents in Sardinia. She is, predictably, in shock.

I know there is nothing I can say to make her feel better, but I hope it is of some consolation that I went through the same hell last year and I lived to tell. I have managed to fall in love twice since, so there is life after being dumped...

The opening music on my computer is "Cher" singing "Believe".
It has been so appropriate for me. That was the last C.D. I bought, toosmiley - erm

Hi Greta

I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay today. I'm sorry about your friend's breakup, I hope she'll be okay, too.

It's good that you wrote to more publishers as well. Doing something proactive about the situation always helps, no matter what the result. I know that, because it's where I'm at right now. smiley - smiley

Hope you'll have a good weekend! smiley - smiley

I'd rather have Gloria Gaynor, thanks smiley - winkeye ("Now I'm saving all my loving for someone who's loving me")

Hey psychocandy... yeah, that's what I told my friend, it's hell but you'll pull through. We all do, eventually.
I'm going to keep trying and trying stubbornly until I get my wish. I want to put a new book out and I will never stop until I do it.

Went dancing, bumped into my ex on the way out from the club and we ended up in a bar at half past three in the morning, where we split a sandwich and talked a while. He was a little down and not at all like his usual bubbly self, which means he didn't try to have it off with me as usual, not even in a jokey manner. We are comfortable around each other now. I never really though we would ever be.

Things change.

Things change, and so do people Greta. There will come a time in the future where you will wonder what you even saw in him in the first place!smiley - ok Its amazing how we change as we get older, for example I just could not even imagine living with my Ex wife today. It took me 23 years to find out just how self centered and snobish she really was. I am so much happier now, even though Im broke and neither of us have good health, but at least we have peace of mind and happinesssmiley - biggrinsmiley - cool

Well, I do know what I saw in him, it's just that it's not enough now. Being bubbly and funny and a good conversationalist is good, but the truth is I have grown out of him. He is, in a lot of ways, still a teenager; which was what I needed when we were together (after four years of boredom, YOU BET that was!) but is just not good enough now.

Hi Greta, Terri here!

Just to complicate your life even further in the male department; last night happened to bump into a good mate of mine & smiley - elfs, his name is Gaël, he's a musician, 30 yrs old, very tall & slim, dark hair, French but speaks enough English to get by. He was bemoaning the fact that he couldn't seem to find a nice young lady who was intelligent, sensitive, available, slim & preferably tall.

I looked at smiley - elf, he looked at me and.....

I got my address book out!

smiley - erm hope you don't mind, but Gaël now has your email; whether he plucks up courage to use it or not is up to him, but he was given a brief résumé of you & went off with a distinct spring in his step & a glint in his eye smiley - winkeye!

He may be a bit worried about his English, but I'm sure one way or another you will be able to understand each other!

Er, "bon Courage" as they say round here!smiley - biggrin

Ah, Terri, you're a fairy Godmother like no girl has ever had before smiley - smiley Seriously, you know how sociable I am, I'll be glad to correspond with Gael (haven't got an umlaut "e" on my keyboard, sorry for the misspelling), although the language barrier might be a bit of an impediment.

How are you these days? We haven't talked in ages. I didn't even get around to telling you that my new acquaintance with G seems to have gone down the drain already... oh well. The bad news is that I'm missing D again. G was sort of keeping my mind off it...
