I don't know if I'm realistic or just hurt... I stopped believing in Prince Charming mid-way through the only long-term relationship I ever had. My boyfriend, by Prince Charming standards, should have saved me. He didn't. I'm saving myself now (in more than one way).

I'll make sure that the next time I get into a relationship (if ever) I will be ready for it, meaning independent and self-assured. And if guys don't like it... tough.

Keep it this way, please.

Sometimes it takes a bit of hurt to make that realistic streak come out, I wish it wasn't so, but ...it is!

Anyway, I've just been "accused" of "liking myself a lot". Crime, eh?

I have gone through a long way to realise that I haven't liked myself enough. The worst thing that can happen to me is to think that my happyness depends on somebody else. I don't know about liking myself though, I think I must love myself.

I like myself well enough... except for when I do stupid things like inadvertently giving out my mobile number to madmen!

Can't do that from my phone... I'll have to ask my telephone company. I've already tried blocking him from my phone, to no avail. And I can't switch it off either - I'm expecting phone calls from other people (publishers, among other - hopefully) and I can't well turn the phone off, can I? That would be adding insult to injury...

Hi Greta, My mistake, I thought all these modern mobiles had that capabality? On my one if the person calling you, is in your "phonebook" their number comes up on display before you answer it. Does your mobile do that??

I didn't put the guy's number in the phonebook, cos it's full and I had no intention to call him (not now, not ever). My mobile isn't that new... it's four years old, which means it's obsolete, but I like it cos it's small and easy to use...

Yep! My one is really old as well, but Im sure if you took one number out that you know well, and put his one in, it would show you whos calling. My phone is the old Seimans style "Ex line rental" that my daughter gave to me and I got it transfered over to pay as you go. Other option is, Call him up (or text) tell him not to bother you again, bit drastic I know, but Hey! he is stalking you in a a way.

I told him to get off my case last night, but he wouldn't hear. Mind you, I tried to be gentle. I won't be so gentle next time.

I don't know any of the numbers in my phonebook by heart, and anyway putting this guy in my phonebook feels like a bad thing to do. I don't want him anywhere near my telephone ever again!!!

yeah....only whish I had "block" service I would use mobile more often...
I can get special switch phone number.... one number for all numbers I have and "block" service for unwanted, but on when they call switch number!

That pesky one ; sounds like you need to get really tough with. Especially if he cannot take no for an answer and you are unable to block him. After you are firm,just hang up on him when you know it is him. Say you are not or cannot take any calls & Hang-up. Do not wait for a response.

I think I'll just refuse to answer the phone and that'll be that. The sad thing in this town is that it's very small, and this guy and I hang out in the same places and have a lot of mutual acquaintances. It might be embarrassing for a while. I think I'll steer clear of the usual haunts for a few weeks.
