Sorry.. that was kind of a result of asking one person who told me to ask another who told me to ask someone else... I posted on the boards after getting sick of re-writing it constantly.

I do intend to stay a member of this site (I have been for a while.. just a lack of net connection meant my membership lapsed) and I've got a bit of writing in the works that could end up on here.. Hopefully.

Welcome back. I did not think membership of this place expired: they are desparate for people - you should see the type of people they allow on here.

Enjoy the place. Things do get fraught, heated and sometimes a little nasty but from the majority of people it is because we care about the place and do not want it to become a dumbed down chat-room. Silly and childish in the extreme sometimes but never dumbed down. So, if you do see people throwing potentially nasty messages around look into the background of it all.

I've been chatting for about 8 years now, and have gotten thoroughly frustrated with chatters in a room (created by my friends and I) who call us Newbies (or whatever spelling is currently en vogue). Since no one has yet called me that here, I like it.

Oh, we have FAR more subtle ways of insulting people.

As this is really a site about changing your views or challenging others you can be a newbie on loads of threads as its all about what you know and what you think you know about subjects. I have never thought of this as a chatroom.

Hopefully, it will not scare you off.

And if people do get under your skin and p*ss you off don't leave grow with it and use it as practice for real life!

It's easy to not get p*ssed off with people who discuss things like they have more than 2 braincells. A discussion is fun! Yahoo chatters however? That was where I learnt that it is possible for some people to have negative IQ points.
