I agree the coma may well be his body's way of saying "oh s**t, we had better shut down all but essentials to recover!"

Viking had a massive road accident aged 19, fractured skull, shattered pelvis etc, he was in a coma for ages & TPTB reckoned if he pulled through no way would he walk again. Well, he did & he can & he's fine.

It's apparently true that hearing continues even if all other communication seems to have shut down, so please do encourage visitors to talk to him, explain what's happened & that many folks (including strangers) are rooting for him.

T & Y, you are quite right, hearing is the last sensation to go, which is why all medics shout at patients, to bring them around, and is also used to placate traumatised patients.

There is a truth that sleep is nature's healer, as everything slows to it's barest requirements to allow the blood to flow where it is needed, and speed repair.

His sister has put up a christmas tree next to his bed, I asked her to hand an Angel on it, for all of his friends here . If everyone can think of that angel at least once a day, then maybe it will send good vibes to Raven and fingers crossed he'll wake up in time for christmas
