In future I'll try home colouring, or else just let the colour grow out, but I wanted it to look nice for Vegas!

I managed to use up the scallops last night, even though it was a fast day, using a pack of zero noodles (15 cals for the whole pack)

Rinse the noodles well.
Dry fry them in a frying pan. Move them to one side of the pan and add 3 sliced mushrooms, a few asparagus spears chopped into pieces, and 2 spring onions, sliced on the diagonal. (50 cals for the veg) Squeeze half a lime over them and cook for a few minutes until the veg are soft. Add half a pack of defrosted scallops (80 cals)to another part of the pan, and sear them on all sides for a couple of minutes.

Bring everything together and add 100 ml (about 1/4 can) of light coconut milk (70 cals), and a good blob of tom-yum paste (50 cals). Stir well until everything is coated in the sauce, serve in a bowl with a sprinkle of sesame seeds (15 cals)

Should be around 280 cals for one very generous portion.

smiley - droolsmiley - drool Sounds great smiley - drool I've not cooked much stirfry/Chinese style things the last ocuple of years... I've sort of neglected both Chinese and Indian food recently, for some reason (both things which used* to be weekly mainstays of my diet) smiley - alienfrown mind, I've lost weight over this period, so I must be doing something right smiley - divasmiley - discosmiley - puffsmiley - handcuffssmiley - angelsmiley - burgersmiley - corncob

Well, I saved the expense of buying jeans, yet again today; I couldn't face going into a clothes shop again smiley - laugh (I will really* try to do so Saturday though, these jeans are getting uncomfortably loose now smiley - blush ) smiley - zen

Spend a bit under £5 in the butchers, for eggs and bacon, spent nothing in the Polish supermarket on ham and cheese (William bought it today), and then spend about £5 in Tesco, on mushrooms and butter (and a couple things for William), oh, and £1.80 in the new bakery I'm using for a loaf of bread which will last ages, and which is the most like homemade bread I've ever discovered (cept for when I do* make it, of course smiley - blush ) smiley - zen
Coffee out was free, as William bought it too smiley - zensmiley - coffee oh, and £7 whatever it was for a pack of cigs smiley - dohsmiley - blushsmiley - alienfrown

I think most men find the amount of money women spend on hair dressing costs difficult to understand... Its just very differnt... Mind, I spend a fortune on shampoo and conditioner even if I don't ever visit a hairdressers smiley - laughsmiley - blush

I brought a lunch with me today, but then 2legs started tweeting about bacon and I'm toying with dashing out for a fry... smiley - laugh

As a wise man once said, the road to hell is paved with "Och, sure it's Friday..."

My lunch today is rather good - the leftover orzo/ pancetta/ broad bean/ creme fraiche mix from Wednesday, plus a leftover tomato and cheese salad from last night. It was going to be a pasta salad, but I took a chance and heated it, and it has made the most wonderful cheese sauce pasta smiley - drool

Spend yesterday - £9.91 on tomatoes, and ciggies (under protest - and he said he'd pay me for them and then didn't have the cash smiley - grr)

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I bought nothing so far today, and don't plan to buy anything... I did however, just eat two slices of back bacon (unsmoked), from the butchers, fried (in very little oil), and two hen eggs (also from the butchers), fried in the coking rings (they fit so better when they're nice and round... smiley - blush ), and had two slices of bread (wholemeal bought from the bakery I've discovered near the butchers, which makes really home-made tasting/textured bread) smiley - blush

I consider this a healthy lunch... not least, as, a few years back, I'd have had at least* four rashers of bacon in it, and most likely four slices of bread, to make two sandwichs smiley - blush I've not given up food I like... just given up the over-propotioned portion sizes smiley - droolsmiley - friedeggsmiley - flyingpig Mind, I did notice my scales are convinced I put on a pound or two the last couple weeks smiley - blushsmiley - wahsmiley - diva

Dammit, bought 2 skirts today.

I'd laid out my holiday waardrobe on teh bed, and it was lacking a pair of shorts/ travel skirt item. Went to Cotswolds today, and tried on 2 lovely skirst 9and one horrible pair of shorts)

Skirt 1: Graphite grey cotton, flat at the front, but more flared at the back. Small embroidered patch in grey/ coral (goes with my colour scheme). I was concerned that it might be hard ot wash and iron, and also that it had no pockets, and was an unsual shape - Dai insisted it was gorgeous and unusual.

Skirt 2: Short, in easy care quick dry travel material, loads of security pockets.

Ummmm, I bought both.

Just bought two packets of cigs today, tomorrow may be a bit* more expensive, as I'm off to my Dad's for a week or so, rail fare.... probalby about £20 (return ticket), probably five or six quid for a cab at the ' 'other end', maybe a couple quid on coffees before I go to the station... and then just six hundred quid for beer whilst I'm away... smiley - winkeyesmiley - ale

OK, how've I done this week.

£42 for petrol.
Used up some of the udon noodles and stir fry sauce with frozen prawns.
Had steamed trout last night for dinner, and mixed the rest with ailoi for today's lunch - may treat myself to a granary roll to spread it on. That'll be the first lunch money I've spent.
Bought dollars and euros.
Made flapjacks from frozen bananananananas and porridge.

It hasn't been too bad! I can see daylight now in the food cupboards, the bathroom shelf is a bit lighter, and I have another pile of clothes awaiting disposal.

I do have a list of items I'm after in either the duty-free or in the States, but I feel I've managed to rein in the very bad spending habit. A bit. No new shoes!
