It was mega *cough* subtle. smiley - tongueout But I did need the kick up the proverbial, Pastey, thanks for the reminder. I got home from when I saw you last week and Mr Vip asked if I'd talked to you about it and I just stared at him blankly because I realised I'd completely forgotten! smiley - doh

I have most of my thoughts written down, just need a few extra things I've thought of over the last couple of days and then you can pull it to pieces for me. smiley - winkeye

Just got back from... wait for it... church. Despite my atheism I still occasionally get a kick out of going to a High church and taking all the atmosphere. Plus I got to see the ringing chamber, and I'm pretty sure I could ring with smiley - cupid in the sling so I might think about it in the future. It's got lots of soundproofing so he wasn't peturbed by the noise, and as long as I make sure all the straps are securely tucked away there's very little chance of anything catching on the rope. *muses*

Urgh. smiley - cupid refused to sleep between 3:30 and 5:30 this morning. Just what I needed when I have a job interview this morning and a sling meet that I've organised in Telford this afternoon. Argh.

But on the plus side, he slept from 5:30 until 8, so I don't feel completely dreadful. Not great, but at least fit to drive (which was my main concern). I'll re-evaluate before I head off to Telford though.

Otherwise yesterday was interesting but eventful: we'd invited our neighbours over for lunch, but at half twelve had a call from my parents saying that they were on their way but stuck in traffic around Manchester. Which was a surprise, because I thought they were coming next week! It all worked out well in the end, as our neighbours needed to head off to B&Q anyway (or at least made their politeness seem genuine!!).

Oh dear, as if lack of sleep doesn't make everything surreal enough anyway, you get unexpected parents. Glad it worked out! Good luck with the interview!

I meant to say, weetabix could be used as mortar in desert countries. It's that difficult to clean up.

Absolutely, lil. That stuff sticks like... well, cement!

It does dissolve when you leave the highchair out in the rain for a few days, thankfully.

The same thing happens to adobe buildings if they're not stuccoed.

I just had to look up what adobe meant in this context, discovered that they were roughly the same as cob walls, and then spent the last couple of minutes re-reading my Guide article on Blewbury, where I grew up, where I mentioned cob walls a grand total of once. But still, it was nice to read.

Yesterday was a mad rush, but a good one. I had a semi-interview in the morning, working alongside a baby music teacher (she teaches a music class for babies, not a teacher who was a baby...). I applied for this job about six months previously and she picked someone else, mostly because she was concerned about smiley - cupid being too small, me having to take time off to look after him and me not being flexible enough to cover for a different teacher in times of emergency. They are all valid points and, when I get excited about the website idea, I sort of wonder if I want this job as well. She's seeing someone else today but it is starting to look like we are the only candidates for the job.

In the afternoon I dashed over to Telford for the Telford Sling meet, the first one that I've organised. It worked... OK. It was in a soft play centre, so the older children just ran off and amused themselves, but smiley - cupid isn't quite old enough for that so ended up wanting me to go with him. That's not his fault but it did mean I couldn't talk to people quite as much. Thankfully another friend came over so between us we could help out the two mums who came along. Yay! Hopefully next time it will be a little bigger, and over time we'll grow.

In the evening I spent cracking on with my sling consultancy coursework - I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, even if it is some way off!

Is it Sing & Sign?

No, it's Rhythm Time. I did do Sing and Sign as a parent, but to be honest the business model isn't as good as Rhythm Time, from a business point of view, even though I loved it. smiley - smiley

So the business model is better, but from a parent point of view, if I can take my child to either Rhythm Time or Sing & Sign (let's say they're both on at the same time, so can only do one), why should I choose Rhythm Time?

It's a much more long term plan, and helps your child make sense from an early age. Sing and Sign can help lessen communication problems while they are still learning to speak but are physically unable to speak fully. Both have their merits. smiley - smiley
