h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello Bels, I "stumbled" over your entry about you cancer through "ask the h2g2" and I feel that I had to leave a message. I felt very moved by it all. The fact to be diagnosed with cancer, your way of charing it with us, and the courage you seem to have. I am also impressed of the way you are writing about it.
I will keep following you on your journey through this. I hope for the best.

Thanks, Izzybelle - nice to meet you. I see you live in Gothenburg. My wife's sister lives near there, just outside Alingsas in fact. Unfortunately she is now dying of cancer. We've just heard from the hospital that they have run out of options and can't do anything further for her. I know that she has had some localised treatment at a hospital in Boras, but the main treatment was at a larger hospital somewhere else.

So my wife is pretty sure she'll be losing her sister in a matter of months, and of course has recently had the news about me.

I am sorry to hear about your wifes sister. This must be a very difficult time for your wife.
Yes you are right Alingsås is not far from Gothenburg. Is your wife swedish? Have you been to Gothenburg? I live on the island Hisingen which is on the otherside of the river from central Gothenburg.
It is really hot here today, It is 26 centigrades in the shade on my balcony! Nice to have summer again

Yes, I have been to Goteborg, also to Stockholm. My sister-in-law used to live on the island of Styrsö. She was not born Swedish but has lived in Sweden a long time and became a Swedish national some years ago.

The world is a small place isn´t it, I changed ferry on Styrsö today on my way home from another of the islands, Vrångö, where a friend of mine lives... I love these kind of magic coincidences(excuse terrible spelling, it doesn´t look right) I had a beautiful day by the sea, warm and sunny.
