Heh, not bad! Parts of it were quite in line with my way of thinking at the moment.

It's getting increasingly nasty over on V & C, and that's normally the time for me to lie low for a bit, else smiley - bruised in the crossfire.

Potholer, however, is as po-faced as they come. He does however make up for it by being seriously cute smiley - smiley

My previous smiley - devil tirade, by the way, was aimed at the usual suspects, the Arnie ****ing Appleades of the site.

Hmm, haven't left yet...

I do see what you mean about Atheists. Some of 'em. I have a page - which I won't invite you to because you won't like it - which starts with the premise 'All religion is bad'. It goes without saying that the converse isn't 'So all Atheism is good.' A question more to the point is 'So what does an Atheistic basis for morality look like?'

Anyway, I'm interested in discussing that sort of thing there and have some intelligent contributors, I purposely *haven't* invited a whole host of people whose interest is in taking potshots at sitting ducks.

Although it's easy enough to find.

>>'So what does an Atheistic basis for morality look like?'

I've been toying with the idea of starting an 'Atheism and Morality' thread for ages. Just couldn't seem to get the wording right. I don't want to offend people, just needle them Socrates-style so they start thinking in different ways. I'll have a think about it the nicht.

Wellll...

You could either try it out on me, since it's what I'm interested in.

Since it's you...you *could* also have a wee peruse of A4497492..but I won't be at all offended if you decide it's 'Not For Me' (or feel you don't want to get involved for any other reason).

Oh what a dung-brain! Didn't think of that smiley - doh

I'll have a look on the morrow. I'm watching football with my oldest Oxford mate tonight (purely perfunctory for me, since I renounced my interest in football at the end of last season).

So long as you're OK with me sometimes playing Devil's Avocado.

(Not today, though. RL beckons. My boss is in a hole and I'm the only one who knows how to work a shovel).

Sure, so long as you're OK with me playing Devil's Avocado, too.

And if you ever catch anywhere near an open thread discussing any aspect of religion/non-religion again, you have my permission to slap me with a wet smiley - hsif

Wise words, mate smiley - ok

Though I don't like scrapping online, and avoid it if I can. I think it's something to do with not being able to see the whites of their eyes...

Looks like you got modded. Bleeding house rules.

This is my worst day on h2g2 since 'Ridiculous Comments about Manx', way back when. Arnie 'the ****ing Troll' Appleade has now paid an utterly unwelcome visit to my PS.

Could you do me a favour? Could you have a look at my last few postings on Veil and Cross and tell me if they're really that objectionable? 'Cos I reckon it was just Arnie being his usual charmless self.

Eek! What did I say that was modable? I can understand it when I know I'be been naughty...

Imagine! Somebody must have actively sought it out!
