Beethoven is great.
And you need not know a thing about how music works in order to love an appreciate music. And keep that love for the arts alive. It's good to freak your roommates out with a dose of culture now and again!!! heee hee hee...
What are you majoring in!??

English(Writing) and minoring in History. YAY!!!
I could minor in Western US(Colorado) history. I would love to do that, but I'm very ignorant about WORLD history, and although it was difficult to say no to studying Colorado history, I simply had to.

Majoring in English?
That is cool. I wanted to do that, but I like physics more than anything else, and I plan to do my post grad in Quantum Mech / other branch of physics.
I like reading about history, but doing it as a course isn't my cup of tea.
Oh, have you heard Beethoven's 'Kreutzer' violin sonata?
It's finale is too good for words!!

Seems you're working too hard.
Studies?
H2G2?
Or just the holidays, in which case it is quite an oxymoron (working holiday).
Relax, sit back and have a chicken curry on me

Yum yum yum!!! You are most kind...
I'm a working student. I work 24 hours a week and I'm in class for about 17 or 18 hours a week. I also teach guitar, and then there is homework, so let's say that 5-6 hours are used up with that!!!
I'm just busy... and h2g2 keeps me busy as well... tonight my parents and I are decorating the Christmas tree, but when I got home over an hour ago, Dad hadn't even started to put it up!!! Then there are the beads, the lights...
I really don't like Christmas.

You teach the guitar?
Maybe you could teach me I'm so daft I can't play any chords, only leads, and those too 'by ear'.
Naah, I gave the guitar up 6 months ago (broke my guitar's neck).
Not expressive and subtle enough.
The violin, OTOH, seems much suited to my temperament.
You work too hard.
You could really learn from me ...
I studied for two days for the Fluid Mech semester exam, and I'm doing fine Relax, sit back and go to sleep - dream.
Oh, and have another chicken curry, or maybe a bowl of shrikhand (sweet, thick stuff)...My website just crossed 400+ hits

Who might your favourite guitarist be?

Favorite guitarist!??.... George Harrison... ::sniffles:: Really... I named my electric guitar after him!!!
I like the songwriting guitarists, like... Melissa Etheridge... Tom Petty is cool, too...
Sorry about your guitar... That's a shame... My uncle owned a little tiny out of tune guitar... It never mattered to me, though... it was sold at a yard sale about... four years ago... wow... how time flies... I was a bit sad when it went bye bye, but I had my own at that time, and knew how to play... YAY!!!
Violin is cool... I would like to learn the cello...

I think I've heard a few songs by Tom Petty, although a Melissa Etheridge I do not know.
George Harrison was a great guy, as a person!
Heard anything by Brian May? David Gilmour?
The guitar weeps!!
Roger Waters is my fav. lyricist - if you've heard The Final Cut, you'll agree
