Up-dates...

Humm...I guess I should try to explain the Spring Break Mission Trip I went on, since I did say I would up-date everyone. That was probably one of the best things I've done in a very long time. We were gone for a week, and of course we got on each others nerves once in a while, but for the most part things went great! We went to a drive-in church that Sunday, which was awesome. I got to go sing in the chior with the people...and guess what, it was on the radio. How cool is that?! And guess what, it has NEVER rained durring their drive-in services!! That is so awesome don't you think?!

After that, we left to continue our drive to Sarasota. Most of the group went to Universal Studios for the afternoon. The rest of us just headed on towards Sarasota. We went over this bridge that was at least 20 miles long (I think...) and we went to a Yankees game for $1 a piece. We only had to pay to park because the game was sold out, but we could stand on the bridge that went over the road and watch the game. It was so neat! We went to a seafood restaurant when we got to Sarasota, and let me tell you, that was the best seafood I've had in my life!!

That week, we managed to build enough headers for 7 houses. The headers are the frames for the doors and windows. We put a roof on a house in 1 day!!! We also dug footers for 4 houses. To dig footers, you dig so many inches/feet down and so many inches/feet across (can't remember the specifics at this point) all the way around the foundation of the house (or what will become the foundation). They came back a few days later and poured the concrete. You know, we dug that many footers in 1 and a half days! We worked our little butts off, but it was a great experience. We got to know the crew we worked with really well, and I think we all agreed that we hope to go back and work with them next year! Oh yeah, you can see pictures of the trip from the CCF web-page: www.ecu.edu/org/ccf/Pictures.htm and click on the spring break link

Humm...other updates. I will be a leader at CCF next semester. I am so excited about that. We leave this weekend to go on a planning retreat to figure out what we want to do next year. I can't wait!!

Other than that, I don't think much is going on...at least not anything that I would want to go into detail about...last week was crazy and there is no point in dragging everyone elses spirt down. Later!

Sort of Bad News...

Well, I found out today that my Granddad isn't doing very well. My mom and stepdad are on there way to GA to see what's going on...but my brothers and I still don't know very much. All I know is he's in a nursing home now and they say he is incompetent, so whoever reads this, please keep him and my family in your prayers! Thanks!
