Web Design

I've decided I want to learn web design. I've ordered a book on the subject (Web Design All-in-one for Dummies). No wisecracks from the peanut gallery please. I think it would be fun to learn to code. Of course, I might be wrong, and be tearing my hair out this time next month. We'll see. It does combine two of my interests, art and computers. I think I could be good at it.

Paul McKenna is the Bee's Knees

I just bought Paul McKenna's book and CD I Can Make You Sleep. It is EXCELLENT! Very informative and helpful, and the CD is downright cool. I'm very impressed with McKenna's hypnosis method; it's the best I've come across. In fact, I was so impressed that I went out and bought his other book, I Can Make You Thin. If you listen to the CDs on stereo headphones it's a lot of fun, because at certain parts you hear different sentences in different ears. All at once. I suppose that one part is aimed at your right brain, and one part at your left brain. McKenna has a smooth voice with a nice British accent. I'll be using these CDs often!

Finally some answers.

I saw my doctor today and we discussed some of the sleep problems I've been having. She ordered a sleep study for me, so I'll be going in for an evaluation next week! Very interested in finding out whether I may have sleep apnea. Despite all the sleep I get, I am usually sleepy. So this may provide some answers.

The doctor and I also discussed my diet. I told her that four of my siblings have gluten intolerance. We decided I would try a gluten free diet for at least three months. Then we'll see how my cholesterol and weight are. My brothers and sisters have had good results on this diet, so fingers crossed that it will also help me.

I'm feeling relieved that the meeting went smoothly, and that my doctor was so supportive. Hopeful that the fatigue I've been experiencing will lessen. Between the sleep study and the diet, I feel like I'm on my way to better health.

What is Zeo?

http://www.myzeo.com/pages/4_what_is_zeo_.cfm

Hey y'all. I've been reading about a new sleep device/program called Zeo. It's a gadget that monitors your sleep rhythms and then analyzes them online. The user wears a headband that measures your periods of light sleep, deep sleep, REM, and wakefulness. The headband transmits the information to a sort of clock, that displays the info. You can find out the next morning how long it took to go to sleep, how much sleep you actually got, how many times you woke up, how much REM you got, etc. Then you can upload your individual results to a website that analyzes them, and sends you coaching emails on getting a better rest.

The only drawback? It's very expensive. Yipes. But man, I really need this thing. What do y'all think of it??? Should I start saving my money? If you know me well at all, you know that I have considerable sleep problems. While it's expensive, it could really help me, and other people shell out nearly as much for Blue Ray players and Kindles. Whatcha think?
