I haven't submitted anything to PR for a long while, and I thought I was just going to get commas changed around for a couple of days.

Thanks for your reviews. I'd like to be asked to think about what I'm writing - for a while, I didn't, so it stopped being a challenge.

I really appreciate your comments, and the debate. It makes me want to write more, in fact, and I thought I'd lost all enthusiasm for the EG. I hadn't; it's just that people hadn't picked me up on the smaller details, writing style, the prosaics. Everyone's different, but I don't get any joy out of correcting my own punctuation. I don't mind being corrected, but it's a bit uninspiring to write something you love and then just get semantics corrected. There are more, perhaps less visible, factors to consider. It may not seem important beyond the story, I suppose, but if someone searches for Disley's involvement with the marathon perhaps they will find us.

So thanks, Pin - you've restored a lot of my faith in PR. It seems like fun again smiley - smiley

Thanks

Thanks.
I think I got it wrong though.
The colleague who's the orienteer wasn't sure about Disley's marathon connections. Last time I sponsor him to run the damn thing, unless he comes through with his undertaking to find outsmiley - biggrin

A successful PR relies on reviewers doing some research themselves. Punctuation should be left to the SubEds, IMO.

I'm sorry I haven't got round to AViating Mi Amigo properly. I've got Audacity to work, and recorded the first part in chunks before deciding I don't like my voice. I'm trying to persuade Scrof to do at least some of it. Or there's a guy in the pub. He sounds perfectly American, at least to my ear, and that would be the perfect voice for most of it. (He's actually an Israeli, but who's asking?)

Thanks

Well, he definitely has marathon connections - I mean, he's still the chairman of the trustees. The link I found confirmed his actual role, so it was a useful find.

Have you got a script for Mi Amigo, or are you working directly from the Entry? There are people in the group who'd be happy to read it if you're stuck, I think.
