Anniversary...Schmanniversary

smiley - wow It seems that yesterday was my one year anniversary here on H2G2! It doesn't seem like it has been an entire year! What a year it has been.

I don't get much opportunity to come on and post much anymore, but hopefully I can get back into it soon!

Although I am not really the sentimental type that gets all mushy over anniversaries and such...what the heck...why not celebrate!

Join me for a smiley - bubbly, an smiley - ale, or whatever you like!

The Halloween Candy Crisis

Well, here it is late November and I am faced with quite a dilemma. I still have massive amounts of Halloween candy. By massive amounts, I mean more candy than should be permitted by law. What was I thinking? Now, I'm stuck with it. What to do? I took it to work, but it seems all my co-workers have the same problem. The neighbors don't want it as they are on their "turkey fast". Its so bad that my house smells like candy. Well, on the bright side, at least I have resisted the temptation and not eaten it all myself, RIGHT?

Oh well, that's all for now. One day I will overcome my loser lack of motivation and write a real journal entry and maybe even a guide entry. But for now, this will have to do.

Another Fleeting Observation

Yet another observation...

Chocolate pudding (you know, the kind you cook on the stove) is AWESOME. I love the stuff.

When it's too cold for ice cream, go for the pudding. But you don't have to take my word for it, you know where the proof is...smiley - smiley (corny I know)

The Allergy Tilt-A-Whirl

You know, most days I like living in North Carolina. With the exception of the lack of snowflakes at Christmas time, I enjoy the fact that our winters aren't too harsh and the leaves turn pretty colors in the autumn. But the past couple of weeks have been unbearable. At first it seemed we would have an early fall, with summer heat subsiding earlier than usual. Then this week appeared. With forty degree differentials in temperature over two days. Yesterday it was nearly 90 degrees, one would have thought it was August not October, but now they are predicting below freezing temps over the weekend. It is just bizarre, and absolutely wreaking havoc on the allergies. At one moment, my eyes are so dry that you could use them to sand that old table you've been wanting to fix up, then the next moment water is just bursting out of them. It's just utterly ucky. smiley - sadface

The GMAT

OK, long and short of it is that I need to take the GMAT, the aptitude test required for admission to an MBA program. That's right folks, one day, I will be one of those (insert school name here) MBAs. What does that mean, well not a lot really, at least not to me. In my profession, however, it can mean a great deal. We have all heard it on TV or wherever when they referred to the Harvard MBAs, blah blah blah.

I shouldn't be that way. Actually, I want to get my MBA and maybe even my Ph. D. , I like business and actually have a bit of a knack for it. But I have to put in my time in the job force and get "experience" before they will take me. I should have taken this test back when I first graduated but, you see, when I was an undergrad, I wanted to go to law school. I didn't care about taking the GMAT, I was spending lots of time and energy getting ready for the LSAT, a test which I opted not to take in my senior year when I decided I didn't want to be a lawyer. Actually, I decided a lot of things in my senior year, but that is beside the point.

Now, I have to start preparing for this test, which they make me pay for, which in turn I will get a lousy score and have to take the test again, and pay for AGAIN. Then I will have to pay mega-bucks to the (insert school name here) MBA program and re-enter the world of writing papers and group presentations.

So if there is anyone out there who has taken the GMAT, I need pointers. Also, if there is anyone out there who feels all this testing is a vicious cycle to take money out of the pockets of the knowledge thirsty, feel free to tell me about it. For now, I have some math problems to work on.
