A pleasant surprise, to see the words 'wu wei' attached to someone's nick on h2g2
I read a couple of very good books on the subject a few years ago. Right now my brain is too tired to recall the author, but I will try to do so in the morning, and let you know, if you are interested.
Have you read any of the translated works of Chuang Tzu, the 'Genius of the Absurd?

No, I haven't, but I'll definitely look into it (probably in a few weeks; I'm in the process of moving at the moment) - it sounds like some pretty interesting stuff.
Ironically enough, my introduction to Wu Wei was from a Western author, Stuart Wilde - the basic premise that reoccurs in many of his books (of which I've only read a few) is something that I can relate to, but he goes into a lot of metaphysical-New-Age-ish "etheric" kind of stuff, which I think is a little bit excessive. Still, the idea of Wu Wei is there, and if you'd like a very upbeat, humorous approach to metaphysics and "how to get around in life", Wilde's books are a great read.
I've got to go at the moment, but I could go on talking about this stuff for quite a while - we must have a chat sometime
Cheers

Have fun with your move. I look forward to a chat anytime
I still can't recall the name of the author I mentioned, so it is just as well to postpone our discussion

I remembered! The author's name is, (get this!) 'Wei Wu Wei'
I did a quick search, and there are a number of books available, and they are all quite expensive.
to the rat who stole my copy of 'The Tenth Man - the Great Joke (which made Lazarus laugh)'
I have another of his books in storage, and now I really want to get it back..
I'll post a bibliography here later, if you like..

Cool! I'll have to check those out. If you're interested, I can give you a list of my favorite books by Stuart Wilde that talk about Wu Wei (or, more likely, talk about the concept without explicitly naming it).
