I seem to remember we had a convo about slings a while back. What did you go for with t'Other? I remember thinking the one you were wearing at the Kew meet looked ideal and I have decided to be more adventurous this time out.

It is an ellaroo, and I LOVED it! I have lent it to my BIL or you could have had a go with it. It is a woven wrap - I started off with a stretchy hugabub but as t'Other got heavy quickly that got impractical quickly to as stretchy ones 'give' as you wear them with a heavy child, I should have gone with the woven from the start.

I keep thinking I should get it back off BIL as I could probably do proper back carries with t'other now, never got the hang of it when he ws little, but he wants to walk everywhere now anyway.

Hs the Star got any idea what is coming?

Useful! Ellaroo was the one I was looking at too. I have gone ahead and ordered it.

The Star is quite down with the Comet. At the moment. He sticks his head on my tummy and talks to her. 'HELLO BABY! WHERE ARE YOU? I WAITING FOR YOU! YOU PLAY MY TOYS! PLAY CARS WITH ME!' The caps are because he shouts it. A natural for talking to foreigners I think.

Glad to help - if I remember right, the ellaroo didn't come with any particulrly helpful instructions for tying it but there are loads of instruction videos on youtube - I always hd t'Other upright on my front (I think it ws a front cross carry for search purposes, you basically cross the materil front and back and they sit in the X) but there are ways of carrying so they lie accross you - I found them a bit uncomfortable though, and the boys got so long so quickly they wouldn't have worked so well for us.

I also managed to pull off the stunt of being able to feed while walking around with him in there, which was a major bonus.

Sweet about the Star talking to your tummy smiley - chick I wonder how long the YOU PLAY WITH MY TOYS will last before NO! THAT'S MIIIIINE kicks in.

It has taken quite a bit of coaching to get to the 'you play with my toys' stage. They have conversations, you see (I do the Comet) and I have been feeding in such comments as 'Will you look after me? Play with me? Lend me your toys? Be gentle - especially be gentle. The first time I suggested the 'play with your toys' one, he did indeed sit bolt upright and say, but they're miiiiiiiine! In utter outrage. Still, I don't kid myself it'll last.

I must admit I am really quite keen on the idea of being able to breastfeed while wearing a sling. The ones I had were utterly useless for that, and I had suchj a struggle with it last time anyway, that I will need to be doing it a lot.

You will find yourself saying "gentle hands...Gentle Hands....GENTLE HANDS" about 80 times a day on average.

t'Boy was really very lovely with him when t'Other was small, the problems really started when t'other started to be able to get about and obviously the only thing worth playing with in a houseful of toys is whatever you brother has hold of right this second.

t'Boy is still lovely when the mood takes him, and they *can* play great games together too, but mostly is it wresting and screeching, which I choose to designate as 'playing' unles there are other mums around to Judge.

We've just moved them into the same bedroom at their request - they get into each other's beds in the morning for a cuddle which is very sweet.

Meant to pop by and say the wrap! It is fantastic! Hurrah! So much better than the ones I used last time. Do you have any recommendations for breast feeding though?

Also, sharing has been a stupendous success so far also. The Star gace the Comet his very own cold after just two weeks.

Just spotted this, glad it is working out so well! Bit of a reveltion aren't they?

For feeding in it, I never managed to to it hands free (I know people that can but my boobs are not that cooperative. I had him upright but just shuffled his head in the right direction then just supported my boob so it ws near him and he sorted it out for himself.

Is feeding going better this time around then? I know you had problems last time.
