Hi Kelli,
really liked your info and it inspired me to sign up...brand new as of 30 minutes ago! wish i could say the same about the dieting......i could identify with everything that you wrote on your pages and diary: your transformation is really amazing. how did you do it? i managed to lose a fair bit of weight last year (mainly through exercise) and have put most of it back on again in the usual way.....mind you the fact that my 5x a week visits to the gym are not 5x a year probably haven't helped!!!! how do you find the willpower to stay motivated all this time?

Hi there new researcher! Thanks for coming by my space, I am honoured that you signed up to say hello to me smiley - biggrin I am sure you will find lots of good reasons to hang around though - the people here are generally a fine and friendly bunch and it can be oddly addictive.

It is amazing how many people have said that they identified with the experiences I wrote wrote about in that piece about my diet - I really must update it to reflect what has been going on since christmas.

*adds another thing to my ToDo list*

It is funny because when I was much bigger I thought I must be the only person who felt like I did - when really there are lots of us, all the same, all facing the same challenges.

Staying motivated is tricky - I changed jobs at the new year and I am finding it much more difficult to get in as much exercise. I got posted to Rome for about 6 weeks and somehow mentaly gave myself carte blanche to eat whatever so I did put some back on.smiley - wah That was good in a way because the shock of gaining a little bit of weight has reinspired me again. I've lost everything I put back, and am now working towards the next half stone.

You found yourself that exercise helped you lose weight - it really is the key for me too. Don't you find you feel better when you are exercising? And after you lost weight last year, did you feel better in yourself? That is really what keeps me going - I don't ever want to feel like I used to when I feel so good nowsmiley - biggrin

One of the other things that keeps me going is the support I've got. My boyfriend is great about it, he somehow seems to encourage without nagging, but there are also a lot of great people here on h2g2 who are happy to cheer me on. If you follow some of the links from my 'Kelli's Diets' page you'll find a lot of losers smiley - winkeye Conceited Little Megapuppy has lost over 8 stone, and everyone at the Weight Losers club (most of the talk is on the 'Saturday Weightloss' thread) is doing great. We all have our bad days but are happy to grumble, comiserate and celebrate together.

Anyway, enough rambling from me, have you found anything fun to do on h2g2 yet? I see you now have an ACE, they are really helpful. It would be easier to talk to you if you had an easier-to-remember name so next time you are online you might like to click on your preferences button and pick a nickname for yourself smiley - ok

smiley - cheers
smiley - puffk

Hi Kelli,
Thanks for the links, it helps to have some pointers towards places to start as this place is just sooo vast! Do you know if there is there a weigh-in class or book a bit like a club? I could use that kind of pressure oops sorry motivation to keep me on the straight and hopefully get me more narrow! As for finding fun things to do I’m still wandering about and finding it difficult to find conversations. I can find the articles and the associated chats that go with them ok, but how do you tap into the fun just for laughs stuff?
Anyway thanks again for the info, hope you have a good one,
Fi
