A quote from the allegedly ousted GodBen

'So I protested in the best way I could think of, I blocked out the thread using the thread blocker of mine to disrupt the moderation proceedure and hopefully get them to reason things. I knew that they wouldn't take kindly to my actions and that they'd probably suspended me for it, but I knew that it was my only way to get their attention'

What's a thread blocker ? Is security really so unsafe across all the bbc sites ?

Sorry to bother you againsmiley - smiley

To be honest I've no idea...

Unless, somewhere he/she had found a way to manipulate the tags in A957576 or A957639 to corrupt a conversation...

Where's the conversation you're talking about?

I don't know. I found the para in GB's blog. I'll have another look.

**sigh** I've had a look around now and it sounds like the normal sort of thing - someone's threw their toys out of the pram and is now upset because they can't get them back.

He was unhappy with something and decided to do something he knew was wrong and he knew would draw a negative response to draw attention to his case... So tough luck - I've yet to see a court of law accept 'I had the right to torch that guy's car because he annoyed me' as a valid defence...

One of the reason's I'd never be able to work on this site is I'd never be able to keep my mouth shut at the abuse people heap on the staff for doing their jobs.

And, in response to "Oh, I don't know about this site Whisky"...

Don't Panic... A friend of mine, a teacher, once said to me years ago that "95% of my workload is created by 5% of the kids"...
And it's much of the same here - 95% of the discontent and arguments you 'll see spread over the site is created by 5% of the site's users (in fact - I suspect the percentage of 'noisy' researchers is much lower than that figure...).

And unfortunately, the whole of the WWW is like that - there are people on every site you could visit who've an axe to grind or who are unhappy with something or another or somehow need the attention... One of the only things that keeps me on this particular site however is that they're much less prevalent here.

Thank you, Whisky. Always the voice of reason.
