Well I'm trying to convince a friend to come and see either The Interpreter or H2G2 next weekend.

The interpreter looks good, H2G2 could go either way but I haven't heard any mumblings yet, so I look forward to hearing what Mina and Whiskey and that lot think when they go to see it this weekend.

The Interpreter is well worth your time,H2G2... I am in several minds about. The bit about Zaphod's other head..., the design of Marvin... Get the impression that too many cooks and not enough fans have become involved. Looks like a bit of a mess smiley - sadface

The trouble is everyone has their own view of what it should be like fomr their own imagination when reading the book or listening to the radio show.

I thought the BBC series was as close as you could get. That could have been the model. The casting of Martin Freeman as Arthur Dent is inspired, a Black Ford Prefect was surprising (as long as he has an english accent, though...) but workable, and Alan Rickman as Marvin is perfect.

You appeared to have cooled almost immediatly. Perhaps I am wrong, or the conversation holds no further interest. However, I cannot help thinking it was my comment that 'A Black Ford Prefect was Surprising'.
Perhaps you perceive this a racist comment. It is not. To clarify, my surprise is simple; The book, the radio show, and the tv show, along with all other illustrations to date, have depicted Ford as a white, middle class young male - he says from Guilford - with a college student/out of work actor look to him. Simply put, making him black seemed a departure from the established. Like making Aragorn Mexican. Nothing rascist, class conscious, or speciesist. I have nothing against Betelgeusians, either.

I recognise no class, race colour or creed beyond any other.
