Why Jesus went into exile; why he takes the train back once a year (a dream)

In my dream, I got a chance to meet Jesus and his brother. I even got to interview the two of them in private. It was fascinating how they powers that be gave him the option of crucifixion or exile, and they chose exile, with one day per year for coming back to visit their mother and continue the banquet that had started years earlier.

In the dream, it wasn't clear when all this was happening, but from the evidence of the train it must have been closer to our time than to the first century A.D. What was remarkable (maybe even miraculous) was the banquet that was held on the station platform after the train came in. The amount of food way back when, when it all began must have been enormous, because there was still a lot to eat by the time of my dream. Whatever didn't get eaten was put back into storage (frozen? or some kind of time warp?).

There were flashback scenes to Roman soldiers and prison attendants as they escorted Jesus and his brother from one cell to another, and through stone-lined passageways. Torches were burning in the sconces on either side. They were standing in a stone-lined chamber when I interviewed them. They both had an otherworldly light in their eyes. They were sweet guys, still young, very idealistic but also very driven by their visions for the kingdom of God. I did not see the Disciples or the mother Mary, but maybe this is because they had all died more than 1900 years ago. Jesus and his brother, however, kept coming back every year, and never aged a day.

No, we don't live close by. There is a water called the Channel between us. Somehow I now hear a faint musical tune that makes me think of Donny and Mary Osmond so I better change the subject quickly.

Lovely dream. What triggered it?

Hi, Krabatt II. There's also the Atlantic between us. But if a Frenchman and an American woman can swim the Atlantic, then maybe it's not impossibly huge? smiley - winkeye

Yes, it was a lovely dream. I liked the idea that you could meet Jesus once a year just by being at the train station when he arrived.
Maybe before trains came along, He came by caravan. I have no idea what triggers these dreams, but it's nice that I get them. No need to worry about being bored when I close my eyes at night. smiley - bigeyes

A whole big atlantic ocean? That breaks my heart for I am not a very good swimmer anymore. In past days I would swim the atlantic and the pacific in no time. And back again. smiley - smiley

Perhaps you're right about the time warp. When those two chose exile, they were sent to the future. To the time of the industrial age, when people got massively exploited and they needed their help more urgently than in a time when people were just herding sheep and exchanging money in the temple. So they ended up at a railway station. This out of worldy light in their eyes says in a way that there are not of this world, but in a world to come? On the other hand ...

I enjoy my dreams as well, even if they are not very friendly to my ego. Contrary to you I try to figure out what make me dream those little details, like a yellow post-it with my name written on it glued to the post of my front door. It takes some puzzeling, but usually I find the trigger and how it came into my dream.

I used tyo eat popcorn just before retiring for the night. I stopped doing that a month ago, yet the dreams kept right on coming. Last night I dreamed that a friend asked me to join him on the set of a movie about Mozart. I casually asked wo was going to be playing Mozart. "You," he replied. Okay, there probably *was* a trigger for that dream, as I have in fact dressed up as Mozart before and pretended to be him.

He was totally out of his mind by the end of his life. I'm glad I didn't have to portray him instead of Mozart. smiley - winkeye

Yes, but for you it's totally appropriate. No one needs to be in Salieri's mind except Salieri. Ironically, when he was out of it, then nobody was in it. This could have been enough to flip the universe into a singularity or create a wormhole.

Anyway, the idea of saving meals for much later has been an ongoing theme in my dreams for years. In some dreams, I go back to eat a meal that I put aside years earlier, only to find that it has gone completely rotten. smiley - yuksmiley - ill

But in the Christ-on-a-train dream, the food was almost miraculously fresh and tasty. smiley - drool
