I love the Couperin family's harpsichord pieces. (Louis, Francois, Armand-Louis...)
I'm listening to Handel's "Harmonious blacksmith" played on one of Handel's own harpsichords. It's lovely, but also nice on piano.
The few times I've tried playing a harpsichord, I got frustrated by getting less osund than I wanted.

Yeah, harpsichords and clavichords are selfish instruments.
Best bet is a good electronic keyboard with a harpsichord setting. It'll do you loud and still give that light touch.

You've given me a wonderful idea. My electronic keyboard has a harpsichord setting. It's five feet away form me.
Your best ideas are very good indeed.

Since I was making a Christmas video this afternoon, I made a Purcell one for you, with harpsichord setting.

Warning: There are no chickens in this video. Just stiff fingers.

I will nevertheless try to imagine chickens dancing to the video. Frighteningly large ones at that. And thank you. Can you do his trumpet tune and air on that keyboard? (even if it was really by Jeremiah Clarke? )
Does the church you go to restrict itself to virtual gatherings? Are you doing more of your playing at home rather than at church this year, Dmitri?

Yeah, the church is closed most of the time - though my sister goes over and plays, while a dozen people sit in the back. Very distanced. Is sent them some recorded music for the Christmas Eve service.
I'll try to dig up that Jeremiah Clarke. I think I have it in the Harry Potter closet...

Nobody plays 12 street rag faster than Liberace.

I didn't see Santa Claus on Christmas. Nor any angels. Not even a large chicken or wild turkey. It was ridiculously quiet, except for the heavy rain falling everywhere. But it was sixty degrees, so I took a long walk in the rain.
