My old was on TV yesterday.
When I took the (hard) decision to move away from my beloved cottage I then decided to sell it. I have not yet achieved the second part of that although I am living in the new with OJ .
A while ago the Estate Agent told me that someone wanted to film the cottage for a TV programme called Escape to the Country. They did, twice. The people who were shown it never put in an offer and I heard no more about it and did not know when the programme was going to be shown.
On my way home from work I got a text message from a friend who wanted to know if it might have been my cottage ... (thank you Bassman)
And I missed it
I gather it looks good though

I wish I'd seen it - I do actually occasionally watch that programme on wet days off!

As it's your house, I expect that the TV production company would be quite happy to furnish you with a copy of the show if you ask them nicely

It is certainly worth a try - although I have never had any direct contact with them and when the estate agent asked for details on when it would be on TV etc I gather once they had filmed it they were not that helpful

I have sent them an email - all I have to do now is wait for the reply!

Or if that doesn't work, just spend enough time sitting around watching crap day-time TV and wait for the repeat

That is also a good plan GD - not sure how work will feel about it tho...
and I am sure the programme my cottage was in was not crap!

I had an email from the production company.
The version of the show that went out last week was not the full version of the show but a half hour version. They have said that they will let me know when the full lenght version is going to be shown
May be I will get to see it soon

Ooh, I'll watch out for that as well!
Is your cottage stood empty, Light?
Hopefully it won't be too long on the market.
Good luck in your new

It is more or less empty at the moment - just a few bits and bobs left and lights coming on to make it look less empty!
I hope it sells soon too - its not great having two places financially!!!!!! (understatement of the year award nomination)

Should I be taking offense at GD's comments on daytime TV
I was staying with my Mum at the time - and she had the remote!!
On the day, it was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had. Imagine me saying - as the program went on - I've got a friend that lives in Cuxham.... I almost tripped over my own jaw in my rush to double check with my address book!

How are things with you and your new place?

Totally cool.
I had my house-warming a few weeks ago, which was a great party. I'm still eating the left-overs!! My Mum, Cousin, her Husband and Daughter came up as well, so it was nice to see all of them. The guys from the band and one or two other friends came over as well, so I had quite a full house.
I've been absolutely maxed out with the new job, so I apologise for not having come to see your show. I've been doing well in excess of my contracted hours, just to get the job done, so I hope that doesn't go un-noticed. What with working all week away from home and trying to fit in seeing the lads and gigging, there just aren't enough hours in the day!!

So Light, any news as to when the repeat is going to be?
And since my last post here, we all know that OurProperty.co.uk has been successfully launched - a boon to nosey-parkers everywhere. Sorry

The website lists the actual sale price, as recorded by the Land Registry, of all the properties in the country.
This information has of course always been public and free anyway, but never in such an easy form to use. If you know a house's post code, you can tell exactly what it sold for.
It's very useful for checking whether estate agent hype is just that, or whether the market in a particular location really is on the rise.
Key: Complain about this post
