Lose concentration cos glove box decides to spontaneously pop open.
Hit car behind you.
Get out.
Look at car (big 4x4 nissan thingy). Inspect it.
Ask sales bod who has come out whose car it is.

Presumably on the basis I won't dare haggle!

Of all the cars to hit when looking to buy!

my advice:
next time look for 2 empty spaces and park in the middle of the 2 spaces!

Oh dear!

Not done anything that spectacualr. Did just get a missive from my insurance borker telling me that the insurance company (where we are paying $117 per month) that they are no longer interested in our business because we have had two "at faults" in 5 years (my Mom's in 2002 when she totalled her Sundance and mine just before Christmas when I clunked into a car leaving no damage but knocking a woman to the ground and injuring her....). She was able to find another company "willing" to insure us for just under $4000.00 a year (or $325 per month which is just under hald my house rent a month!).

I am having to shop around as I have to August 31 to decide whether to take the offered insurance, hopefully find something cheaper, or put the car on blocks until next year when Mom's accident is cleared (or sell the car.... no way, Jose!).

That would be insurance broker.... not some weird Swedish-chef thing!

Hay Icky, good to 'see' you again.

Work became rather stressful from early May onwards. I do most of my hootooing from work, and as I was in a faily grouchy/appathetic mood I decided it would probably be best if I gave hootoo a bit of a break.

Two weeks on holiday and I'm refresed and ready to go again. Well, for a few days anyway - I've got another two weeks off in a couple of days time.

I've done a bit of lurking though - glad your house problems seem to be slowly resolving themselves.

yeah, getting there, slowly but surely!

Another two weeks off? You're just trying to make me jealous now!

Our leave year runs from 1st August, we're allowed to carry five days over and that's all; so I thought I'd better use what I had left up whilst the sun was shinning.

You shouldn’t be that jealous, at least you can take holiday at any time of the year you want to. I’m tied down to school/college holidays, and even then I’ve got to keep the library open for a certain proportion of time to satisfy external college contracts. It’s easier to do this on some of our other campuses as they actually have staff – I’m here on my own atm so I have to cover everything.

On the plus side I do get the chance for a nice long summer break.
