In your article "The British Parliamentary System", you say that it is usually necessary for a government to have the majority of the MPs in the country. If no party has an overall majority, the party with the most MPs has the first chance to form a coalition.

What do you mean by "overall majority" - is it more than half the MPs, or is it just more MPs than any other party?

Hello Simon, welcome to h2g2. I think I use "overall majority" to mean more than half the MPs. It's been a while since I wrote the entry. I hope that helps.
