Pretty good weekend

I had a pretty full weekend so I might as write some of it down before I forget what all happened smiley - winkeye I got to leave work early on Friday due to the fact I worked extra Thursday and they don't want to pay me overtime so they let me take off. I was decided because it was early in the day I should go watch 8 mile while all the kids are in school so that I would not have to put up with them during the weekend...funny how there were still kids in the theater watching the movie but then again a lot of college kids look like they should be in high school so it may have been some of them anyway I enjoyed the movie had some killer movie theater nachos and took a walk around the city (I am a big fan of walking to and from places in the city even when its 30 or 40 blocks which some people just look at me like I am nuts and try to hail a cab). I got a couple comics and did a little shopping and basically just had a good time. I ended up near another nice movie theater, latter in the night, and decided heck now that all the really young kids should be at home I should go see a kids movie. So Santa Claus 2 was the choice. I liked the movie...I am such a big kid :D after that I went down to china town because that seemed like the place to go and finish my walk which I did around midnight or so...funny thing I have walked all around the city in the Bronx in Brooklyn in Queens and Manhattan...walked in areas that people swore up and down were not safe and have done it in the middle of the night and never once had a problem...Friday was no different everything closed up (well not everything but most everything) closed up and all the streets where empty (well only a few people here and there) so I started heading to the train station and what do you know a guy comes around the corner at me and says "Holly S**t you're a pretty big guy" he was a very drunk guy that was very mad at something or another (but he told me defiantly not me) we talked about sports and some other stuff then I went back on to walking caught the train home stopped in and said hey to some friends the Cajun then got to bed around 3 am...got up at 7 am and watched some cartoons got my laundry done (gotta lug it to the laundry mat...one of these days I will have an in house washer and dryer smiley - winkeye) and came back to the house to make some phone calls...Called Michelle to check up on how she is doing (One of my bud's wife she is 7 months pregnant and living in Fl...my buddy was called away a few weeks ago to well we aren't allowed to know where but you can prob guess and will more then likely miss the birth of his little girl) and ended up chit chatting for over an hour...which for me on the phone is a rare thing indeed...I was unable to find more people to go to the Army/Air force game so I wasted two tkts and only Kerry came with me...well actually she drove but you get the idea...Now I have known Kerry for a couple of years and there are certain constants with her....you just get to know em and expect them...one Kerry is cold blooded (not unfeeling but as in she is not fully a mammal or something because any time the temp drops under I would say 85 she is cold) so her going to an out door football game with me is pretty funny in itself so I made sure I brought a blanket for her to use (heck I didn't even wear a coat just a thick shirt sheesh....) the second thing is Kerry is going to be late to her own funeral...she took me her dads for Easter this year and she got there within five minutes of the time she was supposed to be there and it shocked pretty much her whole family...anyways she decided that she would have to stop at her moms house to get something or another so if I could take the train up a few more stops it would save her from having to go south to pick me up she could just get me from the train station so my train would arrive she said at 20 after and she would pick me up and we would get to where we were going 15 mins early smiley - laugh I wasn't suprized one bit when she showed up at 50 after and we got to the game late...because of our parking pass we had to park a good distance from the field and walked down to it...which was fun...the game was good even though Army lost and of course Kerry was wearing two sweaters two shirts a jacket a hat and was still all bundled up in the blanket with her hands hid in her sleeves still saying she was cold smiley - laugh...so they have shuttle buses that take you to the parking lots but I was able to talk her into walking back somehow or another and we started walking back up the hill....we took a wrong turn and went into one of the closer parking lots and instead of turning around and going back she pointed to the opening of a path in the woods that went in the general direction we were heading...I said sure and we started walking up hill on a path in the woods...as we got deeper into the woods the light pollution thinned out and it became darker and darker which was ok with me I have walked plenty of times in the dark in the woods on paths...and there was enough light that I could still see pretty well where we were going...well Kerry was already a bit spooked especially when she started saying you know how this post has been here for a long time and the chances of there being some local ghosts on this path were really good...I guess it didn't help that started making those horror movie music noises every once and a while...I had asked her if she wanted to go back but she said we could keep going....well at one point or another a sound came from the trees like a big cat hissing (I have been told now that more then likely this was a deer) and Kerry jumped about ten feet in the air gave a little scream and grabbed me...then proceeded to cus in the general direction the noise came from...even after we heard what ever it was run away I of course wasn't startled and was just smiley - laughing at Kerry which got me slapped some more....so we finally came out of the woods in a housing development pretty close to the parking lot we were heading for without anything ghastly happening smiley - winkeye got in her car and started heading back home...well Kerry had been sick pretty much all last week so that walk really took it out of her so she was starting to do that nodding off eyes thing while driving so it was decided that I would be driving after dinner...now I had mentioned that I would like to play an instrument earlier in the evening but I didn't think that I would find a person giving fiddle or banjo lessons in the city...so we walked into the restaurant and what is there but a blues grass band with a banjo...we sat next to a cousin of the banjo player and found this pretty amusing...good dinner...good conversation and we met some very nice people...I drove the car back to my house with Kerry in the passenger seat...about 10 mins into the journey she had fallen asleep with her head on my shoulder and I was wondering if I was going to have to pick her up and carry her up and put her in the extra room when we got to my house...she did wake when we got to my house and it was decided that she wasn't ready to drive home yet and that she would come up and watch a movie with me...so I picked out a DVD that I wanted to watch because I knew she wasn't going to be awake long and we curled up on the couch to watch the movie...well I didn't curl up I kinda just sat there but she curled up under the blanket and fell sleep using my chest and shoulder as a pillow (if you didn't already know I am a big fan of snuggling so this was ok with me) and she promptly fell asleep...when the movie was over I woke her up and asked how she was...the nap helped and she was ready to try and drive home...(she called me as soon as she got home to let me know she got home safely) so I nodded off...woke up Sunday and totally cleaned my house...it's nice a sparkly now made some SOS for dinner watched a movie went for a walk listened to music all that usually Sunday stuff smiley - winkeye so a very nice weekend it was...next weekend should be interesting...Friday Harry Potter comes out so I was thinking I might take the day off so me and a friend can watch it before she has to go to work at about 4 and then go home and do a good cleaning because I have a whole bunch of people coming up Sat to do a pre thanksgiving thanksgiving at my house...should be a lot fun

Rugby season is now over

I haven't updated my Journal for the last few weekends but just to let everyone know we lost the last few games therefore knocking us out of place to take top of Div 2 this year...we still did pretty good and as this has been my first year playing (I started in Jan of this year) it has been quite a fun learning experince...especialy because I had only ever heard of the game never actualy seen it until I started playing smiley - winkeye....I have the next few months off and then practice for the spring season will start up in Jan....I am preparing right now for a test that I will be takeing at the begining of next year (no you may not know what it will be on-not until I take it and know where I stand) so that is what I will be working on(or I should say working out) for the rest of the year in my free time...Even if the test doesn't go well this period of training will help out next season for rugby smiley - winkeye........Now if I can just get all my chikens in the right basket mabye I can make the London Meet-up in Jan yyyyyaaaaaayyyyy
