About me
Greetings to whomever finds him/herself on this page. I assume you wish to know something about me, otherwise you would not be here.
O.K., I'm male, married, Father to one and Grandfather to three. As of my first day on this site (7/14/05), I am almost 65 years of age. I am retired from a major U.S Telecommunications Company (Verizon), and now divide my time between my Grand Children, reading, writing, and being actively involved with my Church (www.calvarymidrivers.org).
At the age of 28, I came to the realization that God was the ultimate reality, and I made the decision to embrace Him with my entire being. I have since learned that there is no other way to embrace Him. To try to embrace Him only in part, is to fail to embrace Him at all. I have also learned that the Bible is trustworthy, true and reliable as the ultimate source for knowledge and wisdom and guidance for living a successful life.
This being the case, I now live my life in the reality of God's Sovereignty in the Universe, and as the Supreme Sovereign of my own life and eternal destiny. And so it has been since November 23rd, 1968. I have learned enough about God, His Word, and things spiritual to realize how little I know and still have to learn. I know who I am, WHOSE I am, and what I am NOT.
I have lived long enough to witness the steady decline of the Great Lady, America, from her 'Grand Dame' status, symbolizing all that is good and true, virtuous and pure. The America I knew and revered as a child and young boy has been replaced with a stranger that I do not know and do not like. America the 'beautiful' has now been succeeded by something I can only shake my head at and weep over.
What some would call 'progress', I see as regress. "Tolerance" has taken the place of virtue, and relativism has displaced values. Pragmatism has devoured honor and convenience has nullified nobility. Greed has driven out decency, and the 'sexual revolution' has destroyed morality. Chastity has been deleted from our vocabulary, while the Biblical precepts upon which America was founded have been overridden as 'unconstitutional' by the courts of our land. The Church has taken a walk, and evil has triumphed.
Yes, I lament what I would characterize as the "Death of the Great Lady", and now look forward to redemption from this corruption when my Lord Jesus returns for me.
