Hello shagbark

I'm sub-editing your entry and I have a question about something. The entry suggests that Paul Terry was one of the animators who made political cartoons during WW2 and that Mighty Mouse had a strong connection to those animations, but I haven't, so far, found out anything about that. Can you elaborate?

Thanks

here is something you might find interesting:

One site said that Mighty Mouse was originally a parady of superman.
and Old magazinearticles.com had a piece by Roland Jones that said in part:during the 30s Paul Terry had a strip called "Farmer alfalfa"
During the war he didn't get a gun but was commissioned to make an animated history of the conflict.
Yet another site said toons of that day were attempting to get people to economize so they could spend the money on War Bonds.

Here's the working copy that will go back to the Editors for final polishing before publication A87796462

As you can see I've had to make some substantial changes. Much of Mantra Ray's original content wasn't suitable for h2g2's House style and guidelines but I've tried to retain as much of it as I could. The entry also needed some considerable fleshing out and a change of title.

Please take a look at it and let me know if you have any suggestions before I return it to the Eds.

One small quibble- it Wasn't the Adult Elmer Fudd who defied the laws of Physics- it was a cartoon with the young (school aged) Elmer who chased Bugs off a cliff. If you add the qualifying word young; I will be satisfied.

Great. I'll add that and return the entry to the Eds for publication.
