Nettle soup is damn good. There's so much good stuff to eat for free all around, even if you live in a town or city with just a little patch of woods somewhere nearby.

Hmmm, true. It helps if you know what you're picking. My fungus identification isn't all that hot, so I just give them a miss altogether.

Mmm wild poistenous things I'd not really want to eat anything grown near by where I live... the road just up from me was, a few years ago at least, the most poluted road in the UK (busy with traffic, but less so than some roads; but both sides all its length are very* tall three and four storey buildings so I think it just 'sits' there, teh polution that is...) Mind, this is probably one of the few city centers in teh country where we regularly get cows dwondering about where they've escaped the very nearby common grazing areas actually it was kinda weird that time being in sainsburrys in the town cetnre, and watching the entire* flow of people walking along stop..... to let a mother duck and her ducklings cross a hugely busy road in order to make it to the Cam
