I swear my Father's sense of smell is shot to bits... When he puts deoderant or aftershave on... he really* puts on far far too much
Ooo I'm getting all nostalgic for the Christmas TV adds now... not long and I'll be back to Father's for Xmas, so will get to see/hear them all (I refuse to have a TV in my house....)
Actually.... being more nostalgic and looking forward to the Adverts must say something about the actual poor quality of most of the programs
I wonder if I could use aftershave as lighter fluid for my Zippos?

Ooo A bacon sandwich That would go nicely after what I've just had for lunch....
**Cholesterole worriers and vegetarians look away now**
Four rashers Maple cured back bacon (grilled)
2 fried organic eggs (fried in olive oil)
two slices fresh bread from the bakery (thickly cut, toasted, and liberally spread with proper* butter).

2legs, has your cholesterol level been checked? Everyone has a different ability to eat butter and so on. My old dad (86 next year) has had a diet of homemade pastries, bread with thick butter, lots of cream, eggs, bacon, sausage, steak, and so on. At the moment he is standing on some steps painting some window frames.
Whereas my dear departed ate a low fat diet, but died of a heart attack aged 56. You are too good to lose my dear! And anyway, I think eggs contain 'good cholesterol'???

Eggs are one of thos really weird food sorts... Every now and then it seems to shift from being the best thing for you health wise ever, to being the worse
Nope... Never had my cholesterole measured, well not as far as I know... though I've had pletny of blood tests
Though, despite being over weight, smoking too much and never exercising, I have a naturally on the low side blood pressure... I really must make an effort soon to loose weight.. I've been kinda half trying... not trying... to do so now for a few years, ever since I lost two and a half stone in a yearish... (by changing my diet, not* dieting)
I think I've put some* of that back on... though thankfully not all by any stretch Not even sure if I've got a doctor any more though

2legs, next time, make eggy bread from that bread n eggs and drizzle that and the bacon with maple syrup.
Actually really salty bacon works best for that.

Would honey work? I don't have any maple syrup actually I'd forgotten I've got that really tiny jar of hugely expensive honey in the fridge supper sorted and I've not even had dinner yet
Hmmm....
Dinner tonight....
Last night I freaked out with the choices on offer and just threw a frozen pizza in the oven (embelishing it with some chilies chopped up, mushrooms and extra cheese, of course).
The day before that I had homemade bacon potato and leek soup <drool
And the two days before that was the home made beef stew and dumplings
Now... tonight...
I could do... chicken stew and dumplings.... Chicken biriani with naan bread.. and tons of pickled chilies and fresh chilies... chicken fajitas... or... mashed potatos, carrots, and wild alascan salmon roasted in the oven...
*thinks*

Ask for a tie instead
Here in the Far North it's mandatory that Dads get either a tie or a bottle of after shave when they are celebrated for something.
