"To squirrels, pumpkins are an irresistible treat that they'll do almost anything to eat. If you want to save your pumpkins from the squirrels, you'll need to fight back. Covering pumpkins with a scent they hate is one of the best ways to ward them off"

Yes, regular squirrels, but Misty Mountain Fairy Squirrels as I said have the pumpkin allergies! They are very attracted to the pumpkins, but can't handle them!

Well, I will do my best not to let the little rascals find any pumpkins. I don't wish them any harm. I'm also pretty sure that the Misty Mountains are an awfully long way form my area. Fairy squirrels, like any other kind of squirrels, have to deal with territorial pressures. My local squirrels would keep them form getting anywhere near my area.

So, no worries. Also, I don't have any pumpkins anyway. I tried to grow some this year, but none of them even got set.smiley - sadface

Hello! Pumpkins can be tricky … over here also; they seem to often be affected by bugs and diseases.

I grow several species of wild pumpkins/gourds/cucumber thingies.

The only way I can get pumpkins to grow is with liquid fertilizer. I'm not always able to get the fertilizer, though. I have better luck with zucchini than with winter squash.
