Hey, no one had read them in 1700 years. The monks who buried them wanted them to remain undetected by the Church leaders or they would have been excommunicated.

Judging from the contents of the scrolls, Jesus wanted Mary Magdalene, his wife, to have a high position among the disciples. The disciples were not enthusiastic about this. So, was Jesus more of a feminist than his contemporaries would tolerate? The Roman Empire's adoption of Christianity as the official religion of the Empire was problematic as long as the *official* scriptures gave more power to women than the Romans were accustomed to. You couldn't have your official state religion undermining the position of the Paterfamilias, now could you? smiley - winkeye

Differ has left for a better job elsewhere, so you will need to beg to someone else. smiley - smiley If you find anybody who's handing out chocolate cream pies, let me join you in begging. smiley - smiley

Then don't do it, unless the other captains would laugh at you no matter what you did.

You rarely have to do much here anyway. You have people falling all over each other offering to fill in for the ship's navigator or doctor, or whatever. You have bots and not-so-dumb-waiters on hand to do the stuff that none of the smiley - piratesmiley - pirate want to do. But you do have to raise the mugs of smiley - ale and smiley - redwine and rum to your lips. That kind of heavy lifting is still necessary, sad to say. smiley - winkeye

It isn't just the park where you had to walk, either. I'm sure there must have been a plank or two from time to time....
