Thanks for the answer you gave to my question in the LS thread (post 1536). I did read it and agreed with what you said. I didn't answer earlier partly because I'm not particulary quick at thinking things through and partly because I felt the subject should be dropped in that thread (which is why I came here). Also Christmas intervened, and New Year, and work, and family . . .
DID a fascinating subject, the human brain and spirit can be amazing, but it feels insensitive to discuss it when it has its origins in such hurt so I'm stopping.
However as regards ' . . . if you could devote full attention, for instance, to driving a car and solving a complex problem that does not involve actually using my eyes, hands, and feet.' I don't think numbers of personalities need come into it. My subconscious can do this. Unfortunately my conscious self has very little control over it doing so. On a few rare occasions, in specific circumstances, I've been able to cause it to happen. To a limited degree. It solved a piece of algebra for me once and drew up a few essay plans. I was very grateful. Its frustrating to know it has the capability and not to be able to harness it.
I wish you the best post h2g2.
