In the old days, people had 'pen pals'. Now they have 'internet friendships', not much different, really.

In the 70's/early 80'sI was on the CB Radio (AM - NOT thatchers legal FM)
That friendship was local and within about 20/30 miles(a car ride away)

In the US, CB was used by truckers on the move - they made friends over thousands of miles, I think.

Sorry, forgot to come by and tell you. We've been out in the countryside all day - beautiful day, riding the back roads and going to a Civil War reenactment fair, etc. A good time was had.

We were at the 'Battle of Germantown' once in Philadelphia. Before you knew it, you couldn't see a thing...it was all gunpowder smell and smoke!

Which is funny these days, because Germantown is in the middle of a big city.

Are you in North Yorkshire or West Yorkshire? I see that North Yorkshire has a lot of cases.

Here, we've only had 99 cases in the whole county so far, 3 deaths.

Everybody's still being very careful - the event yesterday was socially distanced (and outdoors), and we're still attending church virtually, with my sister going to play - but they're all spread out and wearing masks the whole time.
