John Cage's most famous musical composition is called 4'33" . It consists of the pianist going to the piano, and not hitting any keys for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. (He uses a stopwatch to time this.) In other words, the entire piece consists of silences -- silences of different lengths, they say.

Sorry, it's been a long day. Finally got home.

Church: Bible study, luncheon, piano practice, organ practice. Ran to store. Took Elektra to doctor's. Read 'Reader's Digest', which was unedifying. Drove home in minor traffic jam.

I am exhausted.

Preacher said, 'I wish I was retired and had all this free time.'

I said, 'What free time?'

"Took Elektra to doctor's" ?? I hope she isn't unwell

The first snow we had, she fell on her sit-upon on the neighbour lady's front steps while checking on her.

She's been having problems with her hip seizing up. So the doctor sent her to the orthopedic clinic. They looked at the x-rays, said there was a 'compression' in her spine. She's going to do exercises and go to physical therapy. Not too bad.

I'm in the process of un-boxing a ukulele...
