I had Lightfoot - in his hotly-anticipated reply to Layla - say that why Kyra was still a sergeant was 'need-to-know'. That's rpg talk for 'she hasn't made it up yet'.
Also, beaucoups people are crawling around the ship. This is a copycat effect I have noticed before. I had the ensigns lost in the jeffries tubes, so now Santos thinks he can get away with it. He will find out differently.
Lil mistakenly posted on the rpg thread when she thought it was the chat thread - which was my fault for putting the footnote in a separate post. So we've got duckwork problems.
This will go somewhere, but I don't know where, yet, since nobody has asked the Gaels to fix it yet.
But Kyra might find it interesting...

OK, I've written a backstory. I need someone to search for her records and find it. I'll post it in the conversation rather than as an entry.

Who would be best to find this? Lil probably won't be around for awhile - and Layla could get it later.
I've got Rory, and Jamie. (Liam really wouldn't be interested - he has other fish to fry - and if they start inventing exotic fish I'll scream - and Elektra's got Sharpe. Weissenegger is too self-involved - if it ain't got fur or feathers, he don't wanna know about it.
And there's Devereaux, but he's just trying to figure out how to get even with Santos for being such a pill. Or 'peel'.

Is Rory still suspicious of Kyra? Cos he could do it
Or else I'll wait for lil. Do you know when she'll be back?
The Feud with Kyra
Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Posted Nov 5, 2005
I don't know when lil will be back, but it's often not for four or five hours yet. I don't know what her Saturday schedule is like.
Yes, Rory can do it, once he's settled Brunhild's hash - unless Tav, who's been complaining to me how 'slow' the rpg was, actually notices that Rory's invading her space and takes action. But I can get there.
Also, I've got to clean out some ductwork. Would you like Kyra to help Jamie do that? If so, come and find him in a corridor, listening for rats.

*Rory slips into Brunhild's office, using the passkey*
*He shudders at the awful 'trophies' - what a barbarian the woman is! - and then quietly and efficiently begins his 'inspection', using the modified SO,E techniques he has learned from his spymaster father, Gael troubleshooter (and troublemaker) extraordinaire Kevin Donahue*
*He takes a small hand-held device out of his jacket pocket, and begins scanning the room for illicit electronics*
It's not like she could tell the Romulan High Command anything - she never stops shouting long enough to find out anything worth telling. But - it's the principle of the thing, as me da says.</>

I wondered where that post had got to - . I was looking everywhere for it - lose me own head if it weren't nailed down.
I reposted it on the correct thread.
Does Kyra want to help catch a rat?

Oh, yes, especially ones with Spanish accents.
I'm thinking fumigation...something that'll drive 'em out. Something that smells bad, and gets stuck to your clothes...

Do you want me to put in the thing I've written now, or wait til Rory finds an "Incident Report" regarding Kyra?
It's a pity Mala isn't here - Santos and Kyra still have some unfinished business ...
The Feud with Kyra
Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Posted Nov 5, 2005
Now that Mala's here, go for it. I'm hoping he's in the ductwork when we get the ferrets in there.
Yes, as soon as Rory looks it up, post.
The Feud with Kyra
Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Posted Nov 5, 2005
Oh, I put in that Rory's hacking into the system.
You can post Kyra's story, if you want.
Ferrets...

Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Posted Nov 6, 2005
Thanks for the plot with the ferrets.
And for being a brick about the whole complicated schamazzel.
Just don't get eaten alive by Romulan army ants!

That's
I think I mess everything up more than anyone, cos unless I sleep from 6pm to 2am I miss first watch.
The Feud with Kyra
Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Posted Nov 6, 2005
But that's okay - you can just post retroactively that Kyra was part of whatever she was supposed to be part of First Watch - there's not usually much going on then, anyway, and lil just makes it up later, too. Second and Third were placed so most everybody could be in it together, if they wanted.
And you could take over some kind of secondary shift guard duty, if you wanted. lil would be amenable to anything you'd like to do. It's not like it *really* inconveniences people. Like I said, the ship's twenty-four hours. Pick your times.
And Kyra should now realise that the only way to get into the warren is to punch in the code and walk in. There's no doorbell.
The Feud with Kyra
Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Posted Nov 6, 2005
'S okay. She can realise that that's not really an announcer - because there isn't one - but another kind of button, then have charmingly interesting thoughts and - punch in. Which is why she has the code!
