You been watching those late night reruns? I just saw part two of the one where Hawkeye and Hotlips get stranded and spend the night together.
(I saw your comment in What just happened?)

Kyra Posted Sep 25, 2005
Yeah, I saw that one too - didn't see the first part though.
I watch it whenever I remember. I've got the first 3 seasons on DVD and I'll get the rest when I go to Australia - they're cheaper there.

Three seasons on DVD
I haven't bought many DVDs of anything yet, they seem kinda expensive. I hadn't thought of buying in OZ. Does that still work out cheaper even with the exchange rate?

Kyra Posted Sep 25, 2005
Heaps cheaper. I've seen DVDs here for $80 when I know they're $35 in Oz.
I've been putting off buying DVDs I want cos they're so expensive here. Just normal DVDs, the average opening price here is around $40, and it's $30 in Oz, which is maybe $33 here.
I'm in Hamilton, which has like 3 shops anyway, so maybe they are cheaper in other places.
I want to move back after uni, I miss Brisbane.

Yeah, that's quite a difference. My sis lives in Oz, so maybe I'll get her to send some. I think I've got a couple of Oz DVD websites bookmarked.
Are you from Oz originally?
btw, that wasn't me wanting to tell _you_ to shut the f*ck up But I'm sure you already figured that.

Kyra Posted Sep 25, 2005
Yeah, I guessed that, but thanks!
Yeah I moved here 6 months ago. I don't think I'd miss Brissy as much if we hadn't moved to Hamilton - it's not very nice. I've only gone up to Auckland a few times but I liked it there better - SHOPS! Where are you from?

East Coast of the South Island. I'm not very exact online because it's a much smaller population down here and I like my anonymity.
I've been in Brisbane, briefly, after a car camping in NSW/lower Queensland. I like Australia alot. Lived in Sydney for a summer in my early 20s.
Hamilton's a kind of strange place.I've only been there once, for a week. Not so bad if you're at uni I guess. There was a great secondhand bookshop there too.

What about them?

Wasn't sure if that was an obscure reference to the ruralness of the South Island, or a change of topic to websurfing
I don't remember the name (it's been a while). There were two on opposites side of the street. But couldn't even tell you what street it was sorry. The one I was thinking of was an older style, established secondhand bookstore. The one across the street a bit more lightweight,

Hmm, dunno. There's only 2 I can think of, one on Vicoria (the *main* st)(Browsers) and one on (?) Ward, maybe?
Never mind, doesn't matter.
Back to M*A*S*H, what eps are your favourites?

kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website Posted Sep 25, 2005
Victoria Street- that sound familiar. Probably is Browsers then.
Oooh, favourite M*A*S*H episodes... I love the final episode, moving and funny. Alan Alda at his best. It's been awhile since I've seen it though. Will be interesting to watch again now and see if I still enjoy it (I have a copy).
Otherwise... the episode where Trapper gets this new pinstripe fabric to have a suit made. He gets a local tailor to make the suit and then appears at the end of the episode wearing it. The tailor has made the stripes go horizontal.
I still remember seeing that episode when it first came out. Hilarious. You must have it... what season did Trapper leave?
M*A*S*H
Kyra Posted Sep 25, 2005
Yeah I know that one. Trapper left at the end of season three - well, he was gone by the beginning of season 4, the first ep was Hawk trying to catch him at the airport before he left and meeting BJ instead. Trap didn't get a goodbye episode cos of a pay dispute I think. Same as Frank, actually. Frank's actual final ep was when Margeret left on her honeymoon - his last scene was saying 'goodbye Margeret' by himself at the chopper, but his character was sort of still around for a few more eps I think, just talked about, and 'on the phone'.
I loved Trapper, he was great, and some of the early episodes are my favourites! I love the one where everyone has the flu except Hawk, who ends up doing all the operating even though he's getting sick too. And one moment I absolutely love - classic M*A*S*H - is when Hawk and Trapper dress up in the gorilla suits and play cards and jump around the tent acting like gorillas when Frank needs a hernia operation! I loved the Trapper and Margeret thing - that could have gone somewhere I reckon.
I've seen the early episodes a lot, cos I have the DVDs. Some of the later ones I've only seen once, and I may have not seen some! I want to have the entire set someday.

I see you had another allnighter That's fairly impressive *And doing exams at the same time
I'm jealous now about the M*A*S*H DVDs, or at least thinking I might get some. They did have them for sale on the telly but I haven't seen that ad for ages.
Did you get to see all of WIthout a Trace?
M*A*S*H
Kyra Posted Sep 27, 2005
Most of it yeah. It's very annoying to try to watch - channel 3's the only one I can get properly.
I really want to get some more seasons, but the cheapest I've seen them is $60 here, so I'll wait until I'm in Oz next.
I keep promising myself I'll go to bed at a reasonable hour, but it never happens!

Yeah, got sick of uncharted.
Not much, same old nothing
Hamsters were revolting on us all the time for ages, they've installed a profanity filter, so any posting with even the letter F followed by three *s won't even load, and the same old fights have been continuing, I guess. I've unsubbed from most of the old threads now.
