Are you one in the colonies of writers here? I'm looking for a medieval village.

I've never actually written on h2g2; I think my stuff a little morose for the kiddies. A medieval village... hmm... I think va va voom is the closest you'll get.

The beauty of the place, though, is the fact that you can build just about anything you please. Ever-expanding empire, we are. The Manifest Destiny folks must be proud.

I feel that I can speak for Odra here, in saying that if you do decide to start a place, we'll do our bast to give it a bit of publicity

l'll even set fire to something if you like...(long story involving explosives and a fifteen hectacre blast zone)

l have seen grown men (well, okay, seventeen year olds) put their heads down on donut counters and -SOB- because they were defied in their efforts to clap their mitts on a boston creme! They have broken down and -cried-, begging, pleading, bargaining with -God- to get one, just one, sweet boston creme.

True story.

But l know rather disturbed individuals.

Not disturbed, dear Odra. Merely Boston Creme-deprived individuals. Totally understandable...

Admittedly the above-described scene occured at three in the morning after none of us had slept in...l don't actually remember how long, and additionally the sobbing individual in question does work with chemicals on a regular basis, but still. Bow to the boston creme!

Um, Odra... this person works with chemicals? Does he/she/it have a lab in their bathroom?

Maybe Boston Creme is different in the States. To me, the best way to try any food is definitely NOT from a grocery store. It is best to get it at an inner city colony to be kosher. Where did Boston Creme originate?

I don't know but, I'll have a cofee-and Boston creme pie. Bye!

l'm pretty sure boston creme did in fact originate in Boston. There is in fact Boston cream pie, which is essentially a larger boston creme donut except without the hole and with ladyfinger/spongesque cake instead of the donut-cake, so in fact l guess it's nothing at all like a boston creme donut.

Actually he works in a garden centre, assisting people with drums of pesticide and God-knows-what which they'll eventually overuse and kill their lawns and selves with, and the fumes of which in turn tend to give the poor fellow constant headaches.

l can see why people would think pouring this stuff on their vegetable gardens would be a good idea.
l'll stick with donuts myself.

I think you're right, Odra. They did originate in boston. the creme pies are more like cakes... a yellow cake, topped with a custard, more yellow cake, more custard, more cake, then chocolate.

Geographical food... what other items have places in their names?

Well, there're Boston baked beans, as well...hmm.

Philly cheesesteak (mmm)
French burnt peanuts/bread/fries
New York cheesecake/strip steak
Delmonico steak

What else?

Oh, and Key Lime Pie, and Devonshire cream...

Not to mention all the coffees...Java, Sumatra, Starbucks...
